Only have a three game slate tonight, so the option are limited across the board. There are still some good offenses and some players in good spots, so making a roster is still very viable. Check to make sure your goalies are confirmed in the starting lineup before roster lock.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/31/17. DFS Forwards to Consider

Henrik Zetterberg - C, DET vs ARI (DK - $5,900, FD - $6,400)

Generally don't look at Detroit for offense, but on a short slate, we have to consider all options. Zetterberg is on the top forward line and the top power-play line, so we know the ice time will be there for him to rack up the points. He has nine points in 12 games and is averaging over 2.5 shots per game. Again, its a short slate, so Zetterberg is one of the higher priced options tonight, but veteran has what it takes to get it done vs a weak Arizona team.

Oscar Lindberg - C, VGK @ NYR (DK - $3,700, FD - $4,100)

If you like a bit of a DFS story line, then this is the spot for you. Let's take stroll down narrative street, as Lindberg is facing off against his former team in the Rangers tonight. He plays on the third line, so the upside really isn't there for him, but he does have four games in nine games this season. He is super cheap, and on a short slate, you have to take any savings you can get.

 

DFS Defenders to Consider 

Dustin Byfuglien - D, WPG @ MIN (DK - $5,700, FD - $6,100)

Byfuglien has six points in eight games this season, but has yet to find the back of the net. He sees time on the second defensive pairing and the first power-play unit. Byfuglien is the highest priced defensemen on the slate tonight, but with that you are getting over two shots per game, and plenty of ice time. Don't be afraid to spend up here, even with this being a short slate.

Nate Schmidt - D, VGK @ NYR (DK - $4,100, FD - $3,900)

Schmidt is on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit for Vegas, which means plenty of time to hit value. He has six points in nine games this season, and has 13 shots over that same time. Schmidt is up against a struggling Rangers team, who are prone to giving up goals this season. With the amount of ice time Schmidt gets, he should have plenty of chances to get some points.

 

DFS Goalies to Consider

Connor Hellebuyck - G, WPG @ MIN (DK - $7,500, FD - $8,100)

Hellebuyck is up against the Wild, who have only scored 30 goals this season, which is in the bottom ten for the whole league. He has five wins in six starts this season, and is only giving up 2.05 goals per game. On a short slate with limited options, you have to be willing to take a stand on a goalie, and completely fade the team he is playing. Hellebuyck is off to a strong start this season, and makes a great play in any format tonight.
