Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks (11/09/17): NHL DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

We have a seven game slate tonight, which should offer plenty of options at each position. There are some big favorites on slate according to Vegas, so you want to look there for a goalie.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/09/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Taylor Hall - W, NJ vs EDM (DK - $7,300, FD - $7,500)

Absolutely love Hall in this spot tonight, why you ask? Well, let me explain. Hall was drafted by the Oilers and played his first few seasons with them, until he was traded before the start of the 2016 season. There was a bit of bad blood, and he certainly wasn't happy about it. Always love the revenge game narrative, so this is the spot for him. Load him up in any lineup you have going. He has 17 points in 14 games this season, and is is on the top forward line and top power-play unit. He is also averaging almost 3.5 shots per game, with goals in two of his last three games.

Brock Boeser - W, VAN @ ANH (DK - $4,900, FD - $6,200)

Boeser certainly ins't a household, considering he is only 20 years old and a rookie. But he is off to a very strong start, and up against an injury ridden Ducks team. He has 14 points in 12 games, along with almost three shots per game. He is on the first forward line, along with the second power-play unit. Great if used in a stack with his other line mates, since they all play on the same units, are really aren't that expensive. You can load up on a stack like St. Louis or Chicago, since the Vancouver players are cheap.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Victor Hedman - D, TB @ LA (DK - $6,200, FD - $6,300)

Hedman is one of the best two way defenders in the league and he is on the ice a ton. He plays on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit, so you know the minutes will be there for him to be able to rack up some points. He is averaging a bit over two shots per game, one blocked shot per game, and has 11 points 15 minutes. Good in any format tonight, you just need to find the salary to get up to him, since he is so expensive. Can also be used as a one off, aka not in a stack, since his base of points is very consistent. The upside with him comes from the fact he plays on the best offensive team in the league.

Ivan Provorov - D, PHI vs CHI (DK - $5,200, FD - $4,500)

Provorov has only eight points in 15 games this season but is seeing a ton of minutes. He is on the first defensive pairing and the second power-play unit. He is blocking nearly three shots per game, while take a bit over two shots per game. Good all-around production from him, and he should be a lock for 10+ FD points tonight. A bit cheaper over on FD, so that looks like the better spot to play him. If you want him on DK, go with a stack, so you can have a higher upside. of points.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Cory Schneider - D, NJ vs EDM (DK - $7,700, FD - $8,200)

Schneider is in a good spot to pick up the win, since he is up against Edmonton, who have scored 32 goals in 14 games this season, which is dead last in the league. He has six wins in 10 games this season, and giving up less than three goals per game. Also love the fact he is seeing a ton of shots per game, so even if he does let in one goal, he will have plenty of chances to balance out the negative points. Good for any format tonight, but better for cash.
