We have an eight game main slate tonight, and there are some very powerful offenses on the board. Look at the Penguins, since they are in a bit of a revenge spot if you want to stack things up today.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/18/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. DFS Forwards to Consider
Brayden Schenn - C, STL @ VAN (DK - $6,300, FD - $6,800)
Schenn is on the top forward line and the top power-play unit for the Blues who are one of the top scoring teams in the league. He makes a great cash game play for tonight, since he has such a consistent amount of points. He is also great if used in a stack, but that will be very expensive, and you will need to find the value elsewhere to be able to fit them all in one lineup. He has 25 points in 20 games this season, and is averaging over two shots per game.
Jake Guentzel - W, PIT vs CHI (DK - $4,800, FD - $5,700)
Guentzel is on the top forward line and the second power-play unit for the Penguins, so we know he will be seeing plenty of ice time. Last time these two teams played this season, the Blackhawks put up 10 goals on the Penguins, so I have a feeling the Pens will come out firing, and try to get back at them. This means we could be in for another high scoring game, and that is great for us DFS players. Guentzel has only 11 points in 21 games this season, and is also averaging over two shots per game. Great for any format.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Victor Hedman - D, TB vs NYI (DK - $6,400, FD - $6,200)
Hedman is one of the elite defenders in the league, and plays on the top defensive pairing and top power-play unit for Tampa Bay. He is seeing at ton of ice time, and averaging over two shots per game and one blocked shot per game. Really filling the stat sheet, and with this set to be a high scoring game, he will be on the ice plenty. You can use him solo in any format, since he know he has a consistent floor of points, and doesn't an assist or goal in order to hit value.
Tim Heed - D, SJ vs BOS (DK - $4,300, FD - $4,00)
Heed is a defensemen for the Sharks who has become more and more popular over the past few weeks in the DFS community. He plays on the third defensive pairing but the top power-play unit for the Sharks. He has only seven points in 15 games this season, but is taking over two shots per game, and block over one shot per game. Again, another player who can reach value without having to record a real point. Great one off in a tournament, or in cash, since he can be played solo.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Pekka Rinne - G, NSH vs COL (DK - $7,900, FD - $8,500)
Rinne should get the start at home against a Colorado team, who you really shouldn't be afraid of. Yes, they have some scoring out bursts, but Nashville is the better team, and they should be able to get Rinne the win. He has nine wins in 14 starts this season, and is only allowing 2.5 goals per game. He is on the more expensive side when it comes to goalies tonight, but the Avs like to shoot the puck, so he should be in for about 30 saves tonight.
