NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Tuesday, November 22

Victor Rask (C, CAR)

DraftKings - $5,900, FanDuel - $5,800, FantasyAces - $5,300

When targeting players for cash games it is important to lean on the matchup over the player. Enter Victor Rask who plays second line for a mediocre Hurricanes team. He is having a fantastic start to the year with 15 points through 17 games and gets a boost tonight facing the Leafs who rank 27th in defense, allowing 3.3 goals per game.

Mitch Marner (W, TOR)

DraftKings - $6,300, FanDuel - $5,800, FantasyAces - $5,050

In the same game is even more value in Mitch Marner. Surprising to most he has been the better of the Leafs rookies with 16 points in 18 games. He has a nice floor for cash games with an elite shot attempts per 60 rate(17.6) and a nice upside for GPP's having recorded multiple points five times already this season.

Ivan Provorov (D, PHI)

DraftKings - $3,600, FanDuel - $3,900, FantasyAces - $3,100

His price continues to sit under $4K mark on all sites making him a viable punt option on the back end. In his rookie season he has seen already recorded seven points while playing a top four role and also getting time on the powerplay. His floor is high for the price as he has averaged around two shots and two blocks per game over the last couple weeks.

Stacking Option

Toronto Maple Leafs - Tyler Bozak, James van Riemsdyk, Mitch Marner

The Leafs have been one of the surprising teams in the early season, at least from a offensive perspective. Coming into tonight they have the leagues third ranked offense scoring 3.2 goals per game and have been even better at home where they hold an impressive 7-2 record. The offense will be in a great spot tonight as the Leafs are favorites to the Hurricanes who rank 21st in defense. Look for a high scoring game.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes

For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.

For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
