Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks (12/07/17): NHL DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

We have a big 9 game slate for tonight, which is normal for a Thursday, and we have plenty of good options on the board. A few games with totals set at six, so look there for some offense, and find the stacks that you can pair together.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 12/07/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

John Tavares - C, NYI @ PIT (DK - $7,300, FD - $8,300)

Tavares has points in eight of his last nine games, and is looking at a great match up tonight. He is up against the Penguis, who are down to their back up goalies, since Matt Murray is out. Tavares is on the top forward line and the top power-play unit, so we know he will be seeing a ton of ice time every game, which means all the chances to rack up points. The Isles have an Expected Corsi For of 45, which means they will take plenty of shots. Tavares is expensive, but if you can get up to his price, don't pass him up, since he is so consistent.

David Pastrnak - W, BOS vs ARI ( DK - $6,900, FD - $7,200)

Pastrnak has 24 points in 25 games this season, and is up against the Coyotes, who are giving up over three goals per game this season. Pastrnak is taking about three shots per game this season, which should fall right in line with the Bruins having the highest Expected Corsi For  on the slate of 49. He is on the top power-play unit and the top forward line, so the chance for multiple points is big here against this weak Arizona team. The Bruins may be one of the chalkier options tonight, but they are in a great spot.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Alex Pietrangelo - D, STL vs DAL (DK - $5,900, FD - $5,600)

Pietrangelo is one of my favorite players to roster in DFS, because he does a bit of everything. He plays on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play, which gets him well over 20 minutes of ice time per game. He has 21 points in 28 games this season, and he gets you some nice exposure to the Tarasenko line. He is also taking over three shots per game, and blocking over one shot per game, so can really rack up the points in multiple ways. Great for any format tonight.

Alexander Edler - D, VAN vs PHI (DK - $4,500, FD - $4,800)

Edler is much more a GPP play today compared to someone like Pietrangelo. Edler still plays on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit, so the ice time is there, just the lack of offensive production. He did miss a few games this season, so only has six points in 16 games, but with over two shots, and two blocked shots per game, he is really close to being able to crush value, just need one offensive point from him.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Jonathan Quick - G, LA vs OTT (DK - $8,100, FD - $8,800)

Quick is up against the Senators, who are just simply a mess right now, as they have lost nine of their last 10 games. They aren't scoring on offense, they are giving up goals, everything is going wrong for them. Quick has 14 wins in 23 games this season, and has allowed two or less goals in six straight games. The Kings play good defense in front of Quick, so while he may not see a ton of shots, he should be able to come away with the win against a weak Ottawa team.
