We have a big 12 game slate tonight, and there are fantastic options all across the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 12/21/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider
John Tavares - C, NYI vs ANH (DK - $7,500, FD - $8,600)
I keep writing about Tavares, and he keeps putting up points, but this spot is a bit different. The Islanders just announced they are moving back to Long Island, and with Tavares being the face of the team, that might be enough to keep him around, as there has been plenty of speculation around him leaving. This is their first home game since the announcement, so I'm expecting plenty of goals from them, which is normal, since they are the second highest scoring team in the league. His stats are great, so roll with the narrative on this one.
Jeff Skinner - W, CAR @ NSH (DK - $5,700, FD - $6,400)
The Canes have the highest expected corsi for on the slate, sitting at 48, which means they are in a spot where they will be taking a ton of shots. This puts Skinner, who plays on the first forward line and the second power-play unit in a spot to succeed. He has five points in his last five games, and is taking nearly four shots per game.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Brent Burns - D, SJ vs VAN (DK - $7,100, FD - $7,200)
Burns is always one of the top defenders on any slate, and it's for good reason. He is taking over four shots per game, is on the ice for well over 20 minutes per game, and blocks over one shot per game. He also has four points over his last two games, and is really filling the stat sheet. Burns makes a great cash game option, or a good one off in a GPP since he has such a consistent floor.
Jacob Trouba - D, WPG @ BOS (DK - $4,700, FD - $4,400)
With Burns being a high priced option at defense, let's look at someone a bit cheaper. Trouba is in a good spot for a few reasons. One, he will be seeing plenty of ice time against the always dangerous Bruins top line. Next reason is that he is now on the first power-play since Dustin Byfuglien is now on IR, so a nice boost to his potential scoring. He is taking and blocking over two shots per game, so plenty of DFS value from him.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Jonathan Quick - G, LA vs COL (DK - $8,300, FD - $8,800)
Quick suffered two losses on the Kings most recent road trip, but now they are back at home and on full rest. He is up against the Avalanche, who are OK offensively, but shouldn't be feared too much. He has 16 wins in 27 starts this season, and is good for cash games tonight. Doesn't always see a ton of shots, which will limit the upside he has for tournaments.
