NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Tuesday, December 27

For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel, DraftKings, and FantasyAces. We will also provide you with one of our favorite teams to stack for GPPs. You can grab the rest of our Premium DFS lineup picks and stacks through the NHL Cheat Sheet and DFS Premium Pass below.

Devan Dubnyk (G, MIN)

DraftKings - $7,800, FanDuel - $9,600, FantasyAces - $

To some, it comes as no surprise theWild sit as one of the top teams in the Western Conference. They entered the break with a very impressive 21-8-4 record and rank fourth overall in offense(3.06 goals/game) and first overall in defense(1.94goals against/game). A ton of the weight has been thrown on Devan Dubyk's shoulders as he has already made 26 starts and been rock solid with a league leading 1.57 GAA and .948save percentage. The Wild are on the road to open up the second half but face a struggling Predators team that has lost six of their last 10 games and rank 25th in offense. Dubnyk is safe in all formats.

Evgeni Malkin (C, PIT)

DraftKings - $7,500, FanDuel - $8,600, FantasyAces - $

On DraftKings it should be no problem getting Dubnyk and either of the Penguins top centers. On FanDuel where Dubnyk is the most expensive option it may be wise to pivot off Crosby and roster Malkin who comes at a discount. He hasn't been quite as dominating as Sid the Kid but pretty darn close. Over his last 10 games, he has tallied a whopping 14 points(five on the powerplay) and continues to provide a high floor with 36 shots in those games. For a more balancedlineup I would side with Malkin and find some punt plays and add Crosby in tournament lineups.

Johnny Gaudreau (W, CGY)

DraftKings - $7,000, FanDuel - $7,400, FantasyAces - $

The Flames entered the break winning seven of their las 10 games which really tightened up the Pacific division. Johny hockey has been a huge reason for the turnaround. After recording just 11 points in his first 17 games, he has now tallied 11 in his last nine games. He is safe in all formats at his current salary as he provides nice shot volume, averaging just shy of three shots on goal per game.

Justin Schultz (D, PIT)

DraftKings - $5,200, FanDuel - $5,000, FantasyAces - $

Schultz continues to provide terrific value for DFS, even playing on the third defensive unit. He isn't the safest option for cash games averaging just under two shots on goal per game but provides huge upside as he skates on the top powerplay unit with Crosby and company.

Stacking Option

Pittsburgh Penguins - Sidney Crosby, Conor Sheary, Evgeni malkin(PP), Patric Hornqvist(PP), Phil Kessel(PP)

No surprise here The Penguins entered the Christmas break with league's #1 offense, scoring 3.4 goals per game. Sidney Crosby has played just 29 games this season but sits just four points behind Connor McDavid for the league lead. He has also scored 24 goals in 29 games making it a real possibility we could see another 50 goals in 50 games. Pair Crosby with Sheary for a nice even strength, high-floor combo and add members of the second line for a high upside powerplay stack.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes

For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.

For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
