We have a MASSIVE 12 game slate tonight , and there are fantastic options all across the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/4/18. DFS Forwards to Consider

Steven Stamkos - C, TB @ MON (DK - $7,900, FD - $8,800)

Stamkos has four goals over his last four games and is now up against the Canadiens who are spiraling down. They are on the brink of pure tank mode and trading off all of their big name players. Anytime a team is in this spot, I want to to attack them, and there is no better player to do this with than Stamkos. We know he is on the top forward line and top power-play unit, so big ice time for him. Taking nearly three shots per game, he is good for any format tonight.

Mikko Rantanen - W, COL vs CLS (DK - $5,700, FD - $6,500)

The Avalanche are a team who seemingly don't get a ton of respect in the DFS world. Yes, their team isn't good, but they still score goals, and most of those goals come from their top six forwards, so it narrows down who we want to roster. Rantanen is on the top forward line and the top power-play unit, giving him plenty of upside against at Columbus team who is coming into the altitude. Rantanen has 36 points in 39 games this season, and takes about two shots per game.

 

DFS Defenders to Consider 

Charlie McAvoy - D, BOS vs FLA (DK - $4,500, FD - $,400)

McAvoy is one of the exciting young players in the league this year, and is having some really solid production. He has assists in two straight games, is on the top defensive pairing and the second power-play unit. Also nice that he will have plenty of shared ice time with the Bruins top forward line, giving him upside in terms of scoring. He isn't that expensive, and makes more of a GPP play tonight.

John Klingberg - D, DAL vs NJ (DK - $5,400, FD - $5,700)

Klingberg is a stone cash lock for me tonight, since he is so consistent, and has multi-point upside. He has eight points over his last seven games, is on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit, which gives you some nice exposure to Benn and Seguin. He is also taking over two shots per game, and blocking over one shot per game, so plenty of ways to fill up the stat sheet.

 

DFS Goalies to Consider

Devan Dubnyk - G, MIN vs BUF (DK - $8,200, FD - $8,400)

Dubnyk is looking to be one of the best cash game options tonight, since he is up against the Buffalo Sabres, who are one of the weakest offensive teams in the league. Really anytime the Sabres are on the slate, you should feel safe rostering a goalie against them. Dubnyk has wins in two straight games, and has only allowed three goals over that span.
