NHL DFS Picks for Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016

The All Stars Break is now behind us and most teams will be focusing on the push to the playoffs. The grind of the second half starts tonight with 12 games on the NHL schedule. Almost all players, besides those that attended the All Star festivities, should be well rested and ready for action. Two of the top goaltending options(Luongo/Holtby) will be taking the night off following their All Star Game performances. Be sure to check the chat below and @Jager_Bombs9 twitter account for confirmed goalie updates throughout the day.

Let's take a look at a few core plays for tonight.

Henrik Lundqvist - Goaltender, Rangers (DraftKings - $8,000 FanDuel - $9,300)

After a December to forget, Lundqvist turned it around in January and went into the break winning five of his last seven games. During that run he has only allowed more than two goals in one game and recorded a .934 save percentage. The Rangers take the short trip to New Jersey and will be road favorites and have beat the Devils in their barn five of the last six games.

Patrice Bergeron - Center, Bruins (DraftKings - $7,300 FanDuel - $7,200)

In his 12th NHL season, Bergeron is on pace to break his career high in points(73) that he achieved back in the 2005-06 season. He has been very consistent with a high floor averaging 3.5 shots per game and has 20 powerplay points in the first half. In his previous three meetings with the Leafs this season he has picked up four points with 10 shots and a +6 rating. His salary has dipped over the break and he makes a great option in any format Tuesday.

Blake Wheeler - Winger, Jets (DraftKings - $6,900 FanDuel - $6,800)

He comes in under $7K on both sites presenting a ton of value on Tuesday. He is a terrific setup man for the Jets and went into the break with four assists in his final two games. When we analyze assists for fantasy we sometimes overlook primary vs. secondary assists. Wheeler is ranked 3rd in the NHL with 24 of his 35 assists being primary. He has offered a high floor lately averaging over 3.5 shots per game in the last month.

Tomas Hertl - Winger, Sharks (DraftKings - $4,800 FanDuel - $4,900)

The salary has very slowly started to adjust for Hertl's new role. He has spent the previous 10 games up on the first line with Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton and has thrived in that role. He has recorded 11 points, 30 shots, seven blocks and a terrific +12 rating. He has lacked powerplay production but is averaging over 1:30. If he can start producing with the man advantage the upside is tremendous.

Kris Letang - Defense, Penguins (DraftKings - $6,200 FanDuel - $6,200)

When looking at the D men that are available Tuesday it is Letang that has stood out lately. He comes in at a discount from Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson and has averaged close to a fantasy point per game more over their past 10 games. In those games Letang has picked up 12 points(4 on the PP) on 28 shots and added 19 blocks.
