NHL DFS Picks for Thursday, February 4th, 2016
Thursday night in the NHL provides us with another massive 12 game slate. There is only two teams(BUF & ARI) who are playing on back to back nights so look for all teams to be well rested. If you are monitoring the status of Alex Ovechkin and Jonathan Toews who both missed their games Tuesday, both will be back on the ice on Thursday. We are going to look deep into the goalies tonight to pick out the ones in the best situations as there are a ton of elite options tonight.
Let's take a look at a few core plays for tonight.
Braden Holtby - Goaltender, Capitals (DraftKings - $8,400 FanDuel - $9,600)
Holtby had a terrific first half of the season posting a 30-5-3 record and .927 save percentage. The Capitals are one of the most complete teams in the league right now with an elite goaltender, top offense(#1 in league) and great defense(10th in league). The Caps will also get Alex Ovechkin back Thursday to kick start the PP that went 0-8 against Florida on Tuesday. Holtby is great option in any format.
Connor McDavid - Center, Oilers (DraftKings - $5,800 FanDuel - $7,100)
He played his first game with the Oilers since getting injured back on November 3rd. It does not appear there is any rust either as he recorded three points including one of the goals of the year. The Oilers should be able to carry that spark over into a matchup with the Sens in a potential high scoring game. He is a much better play on DraftKings where his price is below $6K.
Daniel Sedin - Winger, Canucks (DraftKings - $6,400 FanDuel - $8,000)
Last time these teams met the Canucks came away with a 5-3 win in which Sedin recorded four points. He finished the first half of the season with 48 points in 52 games. He has provided a very high floor for daily fantasy as he has been averaging close to four shots per game and over 4.5 fantasy points per game over his previous 10 games.
T.J. Oshie - Winger, Capitals (DraftKings - $5,800 FanDuel - $5,800)
He is riding a three game point streak into this game and will benefit greatly with the return of Alex Ovechkin. He will look to build on his balanced first half that saw him record 15 goals and 15 assists. The Capitals top PP unit makes a great stacking option on Thursday night.
Shayne Gostisbehere - Defense, Flyers (DraftKings - $5,300 FanDuel - $4,800)
The price has finally gone up but there is still value to be had with the Ghost. The Flyers young star in the making has been tremendous this season leading all rookie D men(and 7th among all rookies) with 23 points. He has been a force for the Flyers on the powerplay play with four PP goals and nine PP assists.
