In the preseason, we brought you Daily League Strategy Part 1 and Part 2. Now, all season long, I will be giving you my advice on whom to start in your daily fantasy lineups. For now, this advice will cater to those who play on Fanduel. They offer some of the best gaming options for beginners, intermediate, and expert level players. Our job here at RotoBaller is to make your daily fantasy gaming experience a fun and successful one. Whether you are new to the daily fantasy scene or have been playing for years, our columns will be up-to-date and useful for all levels of experience. If you are new to the scene, tweet me at @RotoCole and I will personally show you the ropes. Let’s win together. Ladies (one or two reading this) and gentlemen, here is your late game Daily Fantasy Baseball lineup advice for all games on April 23th, 2013:
How did we do yesterday? Our lineup boomed and we doubled up in every league we entered with our primary lineup. Once 3B Pedro Alvarez homered early in the evening, I knew we had a good shot. Then, Buster Posey happened. So did King Felix, of course, and we took home some cash. Tonight is the first Daily League Expert Challenge ever hosted by RotoBaller. I, for one, am ecstatic. The entry fee to these will be free, so if you want to play next week just look for our tweet, sent out Monday morning, that includes the invitation link to the free tourney. Due to tonight's expert challenge, I won't be posting my entire lineup. Instead, just a few of my position plays that should be started by all RotoBaller readers on any daily fantasy website.
RotoCole's Partial Fanduel Lineup:
P: ?
C: Buster Posey ($3,100) - Has been on a tear lately and that should continue tonight against youngster Patrick Corbin. Posey is 4-11 in his career against him, so start Posey for the price, the player, and the prior success. "HE'S A 'THREE-P' PLAYER, BABY!" (Dickie V voice)
1B:
2B: Marco Scutaro ($2,600) - The best bargain at second base tonight is this guy, because he went 2-4 with a double and a run scored last night. His price and hot streak make him a must play, at least on Fanduel.
3B:
SS: Yunel Escobar ($2,200) - He is 7-16 in his career against Phil Hughes and is priced at the minimum. Save your money with Escobar and Scutaro and load up at other positions.
OF:
OF: Josh Hamilton ($3,700) - He went 4-4 yesterday and he is Josh Hamilton. He faces a wild pitcher in Ogando and I like his chances to reach base a couple times tonight.
OF:
Pitchers for the bargain buyer:
Matt Cain
Hisashi Iwakuma
Ross Detwiler
Alexi Ogando
Jose Quintana
Hitter's for the risk-takers:
Matt Kemp
Alex Avila
Brandon Moss
Asdrubal Cabrera
Kyle Seager
Possible Rainouts: CLE @ CHI, KC @ DET, OAK @ BOS
I always avoid players who may be involved in rainouts, especially pitchers. Tomorrow I will post the results of the Expert Challenge and give my lineup card for Wednesday.
