We have switched things up a little bit in our Daily League column. Instead of giving you an exact lineup, we'll be sharing top positional plays with quick analysis about why we like these guys. There is no set budget for these picks, so they may be star-studded... the idea here is to give you some of the best players that are playing at each position.
Here are some intriguing hitters for May 29, 2013:
1. 1B: Albert Pujols ($3,700) - He is 21-for-38 in his career, with 5 HR, against Angels' lefty Chris Capuano.
2. 3B: Michael Young ($2,200) - Young has quite the history against John Lackey: he's 33-93, boasts a .393 OBP, and he hit a home run last night.
3. C: Brian McCann ($3,400) - Homered twice yesterday and is 2-for-2 in his only two career ABs against Esmil Rogers.
Top pitcher plays for May 29, 2013:
1. Lance Lynn ($8,300) - He is the best pitching play of the day and although he is a little expensive on Fanduel, he should prove his worth.
2. Marco Estrada ($7,000) - On the road in the spacious environs of Target Field, Estrada feels like a nice play. His last start was his best yet, to the tune of 7 IP, with 8 K and only 4 hits allowed. He should thrive against a lackluster Twins' lineup with only 3 players hitting over .250.
3. Tyler Chatwood ($5,400) - VALUE PLAY - Chatwood has an awesome matchup against the Houston Astros and is an absolute bargain. Put him in a few of your lineups and have fun buying some expensive hitters.
