RotoBaller has been providing our daily league fans with lineup advice every day. But today is a special event: the first of many fantasy baseball expert challenges RotoBaller will engage in with other fantasy baseball sites. Our first foe represents TheFakeBaseball. TheFakeBaseball is a popular fantasy baseball website, but for tonight, we hope to make them look like daily fantasy noobs ;-).
Here is the today's lineup for TheFakeBaseball, written by Mike T, their daily league expert (@Joe12Three), along with his quick-hit analysis of the lineup he's put together:
SP: Garrett Richards - Tremendous value below $4k and gets to pitch in Safeco. He allows me to stack the rest of my lineup
C: JP Arencibia - K's a ton but also has the power stroke. Has had success against Kuroda going 6-12 with a homer
1B: Albert Pujols - For the most part Maurer has been lit up thus far. Well, the Angels can hit a bit as well
2B: Dustin Pedroia - Faces Humber which is a favorable matchup
3B: Adrian Beltre - Worley has pitched better than his ERA according to FIP and XFIP but Worley is still about average to me
SS: Didi Gregorius -Nice value play at SS who has handled the bat well here early
OF: Mike Trout - Nowhere near the production level of last year but like I said about Pujols I like the matchup
OF: Carlos Gonzalez - Had some success off Cahill and anyone who plays at Coors makes for a good play
OF: Adam Jones - Started the season off hot and Parker has been getting lit up. Lets hope that trend continues.
(Cue Rocky Theme Song or The Final Countdown)
1B: Mitch Moreland ($2,500) - Was hot until yesterday and faces a poor pitcher in Vance Worley.
2B: Robinson Cano ($4,700) - Faces a lefty in Mark Buehrle but Cano has owned him in his career. (7 for 17, 2 HRs)
3B: Adrian Beltre ($3,800) - Has never faced Worley, and tomorrow Worley will wish he never had to face Beltre.
SS: Starlin Castro ($3,000) - I like him against Slow, slower, and Sloweyest.
OF: Josh Hamilton ($3,600) - He has let me down so many times, but like that girl who keeps coming back to her crappy boyfriend, I continue to put Hamilton in my lineups. I mean, he promised he wouldn't go 0-4 again. He couldn't possibly go 0-4 again, right?
OF: Mike Trout ($4,700) - Trouty is back in rookie-season form and he is mashing the ball. He should have no problem collecting a few hits off of Brandon Maurer.
OF: Peter Bourjos ($2,700) - Love his price and his ability to consistently get on base and maybe even add a steal. I also like him because my outfield has so much chemistry, which of course doesn't matter at all in daily fantasy, but why not, right?
We'll recap today's challenge in tomorrow's daily lineup card. Stay tuned!
