Welcome to the Monday, June 17th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on June 17th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- More personality in the game. Hell yeah, have some fun. Love to see Martin Maldonado wearing a tie behind the plate. Sophistication
- Clint Frazier fandom assumed Brett Gardner would lose playing time before Frazier. Defense people. & Frazier was surprised by demotion.
- Frazier last 30days: 5HR, 1SB, .295AVG; last week: zero HR, .280AVG
- Gardner last 30 days: 5HR, 2SB, .294AVG; last week: two HR, .389AVG
- Not bad, maybe they just don’t like Frazier if they left Mike Tauchman up.
- Rafael Devers w/11th HR. Top-three player on the team? Top 30 overall?
- Mookie Betts “struggles” continue. Got 7th SB. I’d still buy low.
- Trey Mancini w/16th HR. Gives O’s fans something to cheer about.
- Jean Segura missing Andrew McCutchen the most. .196AVG, one HR since ‘Cutch was injured. New leadoff man needs to be found.
- Jerad Eickhoff owners. You thought you were done. You finally came to grips w/awful seven ER, three IP start six days ago. Just when it starts to callous over, he comes in for relief for one IP, five ER. AAaaaahhhh. More salt in the wound, please…
- Ronald Acuna is worth the price for admission. In two wks, 13R, 5HR, 13RBI, 2SB, .367AVG.
- Jesse Winker said don’t forget about me 4-for-5 w/HR(11)/double.
- Colin Poché trying to get people to forget Grand Slam outing w/two scoreless innings w/three K. W.
- Matt Adams w/three HR in two games w/eight RBI skews the numbers. 13.9% Brls/BBE. Only sees right-handers (.265AVG) but potent offense.
- Who is the worst person on the Braves? Josh Donaldson, Nick Markakis, Tyler Flowers? Grab them because they’re gonna rack up a ton of stats.
- Trea Turner owners justified. 3HR, 3SB, .327AVG in two weeks. All coming together.
- Ain’t no Party like a Marte Party cause a Marte party don’t stop…Ketel Marte career-high HR total to 20.
- Highest WAR in the last 30 days? Max Kepler! Give Max plenty of Headroom!! Mike Trout: “Ahem.”
- Twins scored six runs and still left 32 runners on base Sunday. Get some of that! Miguel Sano 36%, Marwin Gonzalez 40%, Nelson Cruz only 88%.
- Mojo comes & goes. Martin Perez has lost his. Last four start vs. TB, CLE, SEA, KC (7.58ERA, 11%K-BB). Was he really good or were we fooled by all the starts vs NYM, TOR, CLE, BAL, SEA, DET?
- Yoan Moncada back issues. Terrible. Having a breakout season.
- Trent Thornton harnesses Astros (6.2IP, 0ER, 7K). Me likes. BOS & NYY next. I’m not that risky.
- Respect to Lourdes Gurriel Jr. I’ll admit he’s been a more productive hitter following promotion.
- Wow, does Charlie Blackmon love Coors or what? Six HR in seven games.
- Did anyone really try to start Peter Lambert in Coors?! (three IP, eight ER) SLAM!!
- A Brewers win w/o a Christian Yelich or Mike Moustakas homer? Like Country-Fried steak w/o the White Gravy.
- In two days, Mallex Smith’s ownership raised 1% to 53%. Fifth HR Sunday. 3HR, 10SB, .283AVG in last 30 days. Where are all these leagues? Don’t assume your league-mates are smarter than you and grabbed him. Go check to confirm he’s not basking in your waiver wire pool on one one of those obnoxious gator floaties.
- Hyun-Jin Ryu continues excellence. 7IP, 0ER, 8K. Does COL in LA have a chance?
- YA-YA
- And the FAAB vision planted in my brain,
- Still remains,
- Despite the sound
- Of Alvarez’ silence.
- *Only got one share of Yordan Alvarez $395 smackaroos.
- Have a great day of Monday baseball.
