Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox - Yesterday's Recap

Welcome to the Tuesday, September 17th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 17th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings

  • The (John) Means was his end. 5.2IP, 5ER.
  • Trey Mancini made his 33rd little birdie fly (430ft).
  • Garrett Richards is back. 3.2IP, 3ER.
  • Jose Berrios is an ace against weaker competition. 7.1IP, 2ER, 8K.
  • Eloy Jimenez w/12HR, .279AVG in the second half. 2020 looking real good.
  • Again, Dakota Hudson w/weak metrics but still wins(16).
  • All that missed time, Yadier Molina still finds time for five SB.
  • Anthony Rendon is a smooth operator. Smoother than you realize w/34HR, 232R+RBI, .333AVG
  • Kyle Schwarber w/5HR in 15 games. Does .235AVG make him the new ‘Joey Gallo’?
  • Cole Hamels w/6.39ERA in the second half. Thankfully FIP is only 5.85.
  • Brandon Nimmo gets his sixth long ball; he was definitely a sleeper alright.
  • In true romance story fashion, Trevor Story sent his 33rd love letter. The crowd swooned.
  • Robbie Ray handed out free candy (four BB), but still got a QS.
  • Chase-Masters Delight: Eduardo Escobar (41.4%Chase) demolishes 35th slice of pie. 114RBI.
  • It’s championship week, Liam Hendriks. Stop the shenanigans.
  • Adalberto Mondesi, now is not the time to get caught. Turn on the burners.
  • Jorge Soler lights another firecracker (45).
  • Have a great Tuesday. The fall is coming fast. Stop, take a few pictures to have some memories of summer.
  • No Fear, Just Fantasy.
