Welcome to the July 24th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on July 23rd games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Gerrit Cole gets a five-inning W. (I can smell the judgmental tone in your voice; knock it off!)
- Yeah, it was four runs, but Max Scherzer also had 11Ks. Poor Blue Jays will receive the wrath of Mad Max's fury next time out.
- THUNDER IS BACK! Giancarlo Stanton crushes first long ball. Please put him in cryo-space suit for a couple days until his next game.
- Juan Soto gets COVID. It’s crappy for him and the team. How long 'til we find out someone else got it from him. Please don’t take my Trea away.
- Adam Eaton leads MLB in homers....tied.
- Corey Seager being discreet. We don’t want everyone to realize you might lead the team in RBI. That’s why you left six men on base. Smart.
- Mike Yastrzemski tries to convince you that there are decent hitters on the Giants squad. The list isn’t long, that’s for sure.
- Kike Hernandez with 1 HR, 5 RBI…must be the smooth Burt Reynolds mustache…actually, maybe more of a Super Troopers vibe.
- Johnny Cueto shimmied and shook. Four innings of one-run ball. He’s a decent option vs average opponents. Hmm, maybe two-start vs SD/TEX.
- Dustin May, you know it was the Giants, right?
- Victor Robles 2-for-2 out of the ninth spot. *Checks notes* Yep, 2 AB, 2 Ks. “At least I wasn’t G.Sanchez.”
- Stop picking on Gary Sanchez. Yes, he went 3-for-3 (3 AB/3 K), but he was happily blinded by having a hockey team named after him.
- Tyler Rogers comes in for the save? Umm, no. 4 ER in 0.2 IP. Ouch! That will hurt some ratios.
- Will anyone be surprised if Dr. Fauci visits Dr. ElAttrache soon?
- Opening Day was nice, but today we get a huge rush of baseball feelings. Have a great Friday and enjoy yourself out there.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
