Welcome to the Thursday, September 26th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 26th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Close is only good in horseshoes, hand grenades….& slow dancing. Pete Alonso (51) maintains distance from Eugenio Suarez (49HR).
- What?! No, 40-40 Club for Ronald Acuna?!
- Who likes 127R, 32HR, 115RBI, 8SB, .310AVG? Yeah, I like Rafael Devers too. More Red Sox records.
- Put Eddie Rosario in the Power/Solid AVG (32/.278) category. Speed(3SB) not included.
- Jonathan Villar is just piling up the numbers. 11SB in last month.
- Jose Ramirez is BACK! In two games, we are up to three taters and eight RBI.
- Keston Hiura will have many smitten this offseason. 19HR, 49RBI, 9SB, .300AVG (80games)
- Super-sized Spicy Chicken sandwich combo meal from Wendys, please! Randy Arozarena w/first career homer & 2SB.
- Ryan Braun brawn on full display. 4HR, 16RBI, .289AVG last 15 games.
- Abstract art: Shane Bieber’s loss to White Sox. It kinda looks good, but ultimately it doesn’t make sense.
- Wow, of the 34 hits, 11 are homers. Very impressive, Brad Miller.
- Scott Kingery steals two bases(15) just to remind you to pick him late in 2020.
- What could have been if Howie Kendrick was given a full-time job? 60/17/62/.345 in 330AB.
- Be wary again in 2020. You don’t need any Brian Dozier in your life.
- Ian Happ might be a speculation add in dynasty leagues again. 3HR, 9RBI, .313AVG last 15 games.
- Keona Kela & Richard Rodriguez are prime candidates for Pirates' in-house closers in 2020.
- Rowdy Tellez throwing his weight around & gets two free passes around the trail of bases.
- Three very good years. Can Charlie Morton make it a fourth at 36 years old?
- Morton & staff held the Yankees to one measly hit. Say thank you to DJ LeMahieu.
- Jacob deGrom was masterful. 7IP, 1ER, 7K. Another Cy Young award?
- Christian Vazquez homers(23) and then gets injured. Watch this.
- Alex Colome w/30 saves. Mind-boggling.
- Maybe I should have looked at receivers for all my wins. Luke Jackson (9-2).
- Dansby Swanson has chance to finish near the top…of the lineup.
- There he is. Garrett Hampson takes a break from the power drive to lay down some rubber. Two SB(15).
- Frankie Montas looked good in return, albeit vs. Angels. Barring any special cocktails this offseason, he should be a solid starter (sleeper?) in 2020.
- Matt Chapman matches fly ball rate(43%) w/ground ball(41%). He still gets 35HR. Wish AVG was more like…
- Ramon Laureano returns to dreaminess. 12R, 3HR, .356AVG in 15 games. .290AVG this year.
- Kyle Tucker has proved he deserves a spot in 2020 as he enjoys a Pick Two from McAlisters. One tater(three). One SB(five).
- I want Zack Greinke in every draft next year.
- Trying to finish the way he started, Joc Pederson w/eight dingers in SEP. Two shy of the first month of the season.
- Every at-bat counts: Make sure you don’t have these guys just sitting in your lineups for the last few days:
- Have a great Thursday. May the victories be ever in your fantasy leagues.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
