Welcome to the Sunday, September 29th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 29th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Pete Alonso setting records. 53 Monster Jams! Mike Foltynewicz, you made the record books.
- Justin Verlander sits alone in the 21W club savoring his 300K. 3000K.
- Jonathan Villar (24HR/40SB/.274AVG) in the third, Adalberto Mondesi (9/43/.263) in the second or Trea Turner (19/34/.295) in the first? Turner for me.
- ROLLERCOASTER of emotions. Reynaldo Lopez finishes strong. Feels good. Is the future up or down?
- THUN-DAH! Eloy Jimenez w/9HR, 18RBI, .344AVG in SEP. That’s how you leave people w/positive thoughts.
- Xander Bogaerts is a beast, plain & simple.
- Would you consider 36HR & 203R+RBI a letdown season? J.D. Martinez agrees.
- Swinging more generates more productivity, even if you chase more. Ain’t that right Yoan Moncada?
- Jorge Soler provided very quick HR buffering time today. 47.
- Renato Nunez finishing strong, Back-to-back homer games. (31).
- 20SB is nice but a nice all-around guy isn’t worth a second-rounder to me. Whit Merrifield.
- Trey Mancini w/ 35 taters. This guy is an All-Star, right?
- Ryan Yarbrough didn’t finish as well as hoped. 7.52ERA(5.27FIP) in five SEP starts. 11%K-BB. Good news: .353BABIP; 59.5%LOB.
- HAHAHA. Ooooh Boy! You may need your diaper/big-person undies changed after that Adam Plutko start. 1.1IP, 8ER.
- Hyun-Jin Ryu helped clean up some messes w/clean seven innings w/7K. 2.32ERA. 14W.
- Max Muncy not only hit 35HR, but he will also have 1B/2B/3B eligibility next year. Giggity-Giggity!
- Bryce Harper mashes 35th tater & adds 15th SB. Yeah, it feels like an In-N-Out combo meal kinda performance.
- Don’t let the Zach Eflin hype build over a W (against the Marlins).
- Have you ever had a great time at a party w/ a few drinks & your friend says he’ll take you home? Yet, at the end of the night, you’re stranded. Aristides Aquino might be that friend. He left 10 guys stranded yesterday. 10!
- Ian Happ might have figured things out. Sneaky pick in 2020 if he gets playing time. 5HR, 12RBI, .522AVG last week
- Paul DeJong w/30 long balls is great. .234AVG though.
- Rougned Odor gets 30th HR, steals 11th base. For that combo meal we go to Taco Cabana to enjoy a margarita to wash down the .204AVG.
- Christian Walker had a mostly down season but still climbed to 29 dingers.
- How many people have at least 33 HR? 42. Manny Machado (32) isn’t one of them.
- Is the Story or the outcome more important? In this case, Trevor’s 35th cliff-hanger provided a happy ending.
- Yuli Gurriel has more than you ever wanted. 30HR, 102RBI, 5SB, .298AVG.
- Have a great Sunday. Enjoy the day. Take a moment to reach out to family and friends. A small hello means more than you know. Plus, you never know how many opportunities you'll have.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
