BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

ANALYSIS: If we were discussing a potential trade target here instead of a waiver wire pickup, Dallas Goedert would clearly qualify as a go-to buy-low candidate. From Week 6 to Week 8, Goedert had out-performed Zach Ertz each and every time they shared the field to the point Ertz’s owners were starting to get a little mad at his production. Now, in Week 9, the Chicago Bears helped Ertz reverse that course while also allowing Goedert to fly under the radar and end with a solid contribution that won’t be noticed by many fantasy GMs.
Yes, Ertz’s 25.3 fantasy points in Week 9 are massive, as were his 11 targets. Goedert came back to Earth a little but he maintained his average number of targets (five this time), caught four passes and finished the day with 39 yards and 7.9 fantasy points. That makes it four straight weeks reaching or surpassing that mark, which is not bad for a supposed TE2. Entering their bye week, the Eagles tight ends are separated mostly by usage numbers, as their averages are pretty close. Ertz is posting up 8.3 targets, 5.1 receptions and 58.5 yards per game and has scored two touchdowns. Goedert sits at 4 targets per game, 2.6 receptions and 27.6 yards with three touchdowns.
The tight end position is one to stream if you don’t have a lock (and there aren’t many, mind you) in it already. In deeper leagues, with multiple tight ends to play or two or more Flex slots, Goedert is as good and addition as any other TE out there even in his secondary role and timeshare. If you can pick him up for free go and get him before anyone else does.
