Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Daniel Norris has been placed on the 15-day DL with an oblique injury.
Norris suffered a right oblique strain in his start Wednesday night at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs. The left-hander couldn’t get out of the fifth inning because of the injury. He allowed three runs on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts before he got hurt.

It might be 3-4 weeks until Norris returns from the injury. The 22-year-old hasn’t done too well since being traded from the Toronto Blue Jays. In four starts in Detroit, he owns a 5.06 ERA and 16/5 K/BB ratio through 21 1/3 innings in four starts.
This season in general has been tough for Norris. He owns a 4.43 ERA with a 2-2 record over nine starts. He was pitching in the Blue Jays minor league system until he was called up in the middle of the season. He remains a very high-ceiling prospect for Detroit.
