BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 22% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay infielder Daniel Robertson has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners so far in 2018. The multi-position 24-year old is batting .262/.413/.443 to go with an impressive .380 wOBA and 144 wRC+ this season. The most impressive stat may be Robertson's 18.7% walk rate which is driven by an equally impressive 7.0% swinging strike rate and 18.5% O-Swing (pitches chased out of the strike zone) rate.
Fantasy owners in need of a middle infielder could do worse than to pick up Robertson. The good news is that everything he is doing, aside from a slightly elevated HR/FB ratio, seems quite sustainable. It is even possible that he even sees some at-bats in the outfield to add to his versatility with the departure of Denard Span. Rays manager Kevin Cash hinted at getting outfield reps for Robertson earlier in the season when Carlos Gomez went on the disabled list. The bottom line here is that even though Robertson has cooled off in recent weeks, he makes for a smart add in 12-team formats due to his ability to chip in over multiple categorizes and the eligibility he brings to a roster.
