BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 9% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: One thing about the Detroit Lions this year is that they like to throw the football. That's going to be even more true with Kerryon Johnson on the IR, as the team loses their best running back.
Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. get most of the attention on this team, but those two have similar roles offensively, which makes it tough for both players to perform well in the same week. That's not true for the team's slot receiver, Danny Amendola, who has put up a couple of strong outings in a row and looks to be unaffected by the Golladay/Jones outside receiver power struggle.
On Sunday, Amendola caught all eight of his targets against the Giants, finishing with 95 yards. He's been targeted 19 times in the past two games and with the running game losing its effectiveness, Amendola's ability to thrive in short yardage almost makes him into a kind of running back, if you want to get existential about things.
I know Amendola went through a rough patch this year, missing games and being barely used when he was on the field, but the past two weeks suggest that a change has happened in Detroit. In PPR, I'm ready to grab and play Danny Amendola.
