Danny Duffy (SP, KC) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in AL-Only and Deep Leagues

ANALYSIS: Danny Duffy's name has come up a lot in the fantasy community lately. And why not? His name is a lot of fun to say! But what's really grabbed the attention of fantasy managers is the fact that he is currently sitting on 2.83 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 42 Ks in 54 innings pitched. Duffy did show brief promise in 2013 when he pitched to a 1.85 ERA, and had 22 Ks in 24 IP and he seems to be building upon that this year. However, it's reasonable to expect Duffy's ERA and WHIP both to go up as his Batting Average Against, WHIP, and BABIP are well below career norms. I personally wouldn't be starting Duffy against the Tigers in his next start, but they will serve as a good test of whether he has truly turned a corner or not. If he can tame the Tigers, I'd suggest picking him up in deep leagues at the very least.
