BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 74% of Yahoo! Leagues
ANALYSIS: Danny Green has largely been a three-and-d specialist for the San Antonio Spurs since earning playing time in 2011. However, he has shown flashes of being a legitimate scoring threat -- including his tremendous season last year. This season, he simply hasn't needed to take on a larger role with the addition of LaMarcus Aldridge and the emergence of Kawhi Leonard as a true star. Despite starting all 49 games in which he has played this year, Green has averaged just 25.3 minutes.
Now, with Manu Ginobili, who averages 19.7 minutes off the bench, sidelined for at least a month with a groin injury, Green will have a chance to step up. He will likely obtain many of Ginobili's minutes. When playing a career high 28.5 minutes per game in 2014-'15, he scored 11.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest, all the most of his career. Green's only real competition for minutes is Jonathan Simmons, who at age 26, is scoring 5.9 points in 13.5 minutes per game as a rookie. Green isn't your typical sleeper -- he owned in almost three out of every four leagues, largely because he was drafted in the mid-rounds of most leagues and his stubborn or derelict owners never dropped him. But his ownership should rise up closer to 100% as he plays more minutes. As long as Ginobili is out, Green is a must-own in all but the shallowest of leagues.
