BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues / AL-Only, Continue Scouting in Shallow Leagues
ANALYSIS: Danny Santana has burst onto the scene with a .340 average, 12 runs scored, 15 RBIs, and 5 steals (without being caught for those of you in NSB leagues) in only 107 at-bats to date, adding him to our list of recent waiver wire sleepers. However, with that being said, his .427 BABIP suggests that he has been incredibly lucky so far, especially since he has never hit above .300 in the minor leagues. Santana does have speed though, having reached double digits steals in 5 of his 7 seasons in the minors, which can help explain a slightly elevated BABIP. Take a look at your 5th outfielder, your backup shortstop, or your backup 2nd baseman - and imagine if one player could replace all of them, freeing up space on your roster. Santana is that guy, and he is currently the guy that Ben Zobrist owners thought they drafted. Make the move managers!
