D'Arnaud (Elbow) Possibly Back This Weekend For Mets

Travis d’Arnaud is slated to make his return to the New York Mets over the weekend against the Washington Nationals.

The Mets catcher went 1-for-3 with a single while catching seven innings for Double-A Binghamton on Monday. D’Arnaud will catch a full game on Tuesday, which could be his final game during his rehab stint while recovering from another elbow injury that has cost him a month.

"I feel great, and I'm excited to get back whenever they feel like I'm ready," d'Arnaud told ESPN.com.

D'Arnaud suffered a sprained left elbow on June 20 when A.J. Pierzynski was coming toward the plate and he was injured by the tag.

"I thought it was going to be worse, honestly, when it happened," d'Arnaud said. "A.J.'s a big guy. When it happened, I felt like my whole arm -- my elbow, my everything -- when I lifted it up, I thought it was going to be dangling the opposite way. I'm actually happy it was this."

There’s a chance he could come back before the weekend series.
