ANALYSIS: For some reason I will never get to comprehend, Darnell Mooney is still available in more than 9 of 10 Yahoo! fantasy leagues... I know, I know. Allen Robinson II is Chicago's no. 1 WR, he's averaging almost twice as many fantasy points per game, and Mooney's 8.4 PPR per match average is just on a WR3/FLEX level at most. But how the hell can't more fantasy GMs not considering even rostering him!?
All of A-Rob, Anthony Miller, and Darnell Mooney have played in every game this season. Robinson, we all know about. Miller is the only one with a goose egg (Week 2). Mooney has been a freaking discovery and one of the breakout players of the years given his role. The fifth-round rookie has seen 43 targets to Miller's 42, but he's racked up 305 yards (+43) and scored a couple of touchdowns while averaging 2.6 Y/R above Miller's average this season.
Mooney aDOT of 15.8 is also further down the field than Miller's 12.2 yards, which makes Mooney a more likely player to hit big-time points any given week. Nobody expected this from Mooney, but here we are. Mooney just had his best game of the season with 17.9 PPR points (5 receptions on 6 targets, 69 yards, 1 TD), and although the score helped him a bit, he's been getting between 7 and 11 PPR points weekly this season.
See, Mooney is not going to win you the league, but he's got booming upside to finish as a WR2 in spot matchups and he's playing the second-most snaps among Chicago's pass catchers. The Bears face the second- and third-worst defenses against fantasy WRs next, so he's more than a viable play at WR3/FLEX spots in deeper-format leagues.
