Darren McFadden to Have Big Game as Safety Net for Tony Romo

Without the help of Dez Bryant and Tony Romo for a number of weeks this season, it’s no surprise that the Dallas Cowboys currently find themselves with a lowly record of 2-7. While there’s technically still an outside shot of America’s team qualifying for the postseason in a weakened NFC East, it’s admittedly a long shot.

But, that doesn’t mean that fantasy owners looking to get as much out of the league’s biggest stars shouldn’t look to the Cowboys for some top-tier scoring later on in the season through the likes of the aforementioned Bryant and Romo. Yet, if you’re really looking for a sleeper, during the Cowboys’ Week 11 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, take a chance on Darren McFadden.

Sure, he’s no DeMarco Murray, but considering the circumstances, he’s ready for a monster performance. Yes, McFadden had his worst game of the year as soon as he took over the No. 1 tailback position during a Week 7 matchup against Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but that was nearly a month ago. Simply put, the second time around in Florida, it’s highly unlikely that he accumulate a pathetic five points for his fantasy owners.

Additionally, the Dolphins have struggled mightily against their opponents’ ground attacks this year. In fact, in four consecutive weeks, opposing running backs have managed to put up double-digit points in standard leagues when taking on Ndamukong Suh and his fellow defensemen. Even worse, in seven consecutive weeks, starting halfbacks have either scored a touchdown or run for 100 total yards against the Dolphins.

Seeing as how McFadden has been averaging a hefty 20 touches per game this season, he’ll have plenty of opportunity to make his mark on the game. Sure, Romo’s back and if the Cowboys have any shot of getting back in the mix of things, they’ll need to throw the ball.

However, this will most assuredly open up an already porous Dolphins defense and provide plenty of room for McFadden’s game to take over. In need of a real running back this week? No worries—look no further than McFadden.
