David Moore (WR, SEA) - Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED: 1% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: Usually, there's always one bonafide deep-threat in the Seattle Seahawks receiving core. This season, with the fire Russell Wilson is slinging each week, there is plenty of air to be shared among multiple parties. The crazy thing is, Tyler Lockett doesn't even crack Seattle's top three in yards per reception, as that distinction is shared between D.K. Metcalf (25.2), Freddie Swain (16.6), and our present subject, fourth-year wide receiver David Moore (17.3). The 25-year-old WR out of East Central University packs an intriguing frame at 6'0, 215-lb., and while the volume with which he is involved in the totality of the offense might give you pause, what he manages to squeeze out of every single opportunity should pull you right back in.

While his ten receptions and eleven targets rank just fifth on Seattle's roster, it's always encouraging when a player displays a 91% catch rate, and despite the slight deficiency in workload, Moore ranks third on the team in receiving yards (173) behind Lockett and Metcalf, and he is one of four Seahawks to have found the end zone through the air on multiple occasions; not to mention the fact that Moore is the only Seattle receiver to take a carry in 2020, going for 12 yards on his lone attempt back in Week One against Atlanta, while also handling kick and punt return duty.

His percentage of offensive snaps seen has steadily decreased from 53% to 35% over the first four weeks, yet he posted his best game of the season under that 35% mark this past week against the Dolphins, catching three of four targeted passes for 95 yards and a score. Seattle is packing quite a repertoire of weapons on offense this season, and Russell Wilson has been absolutely making it rain on the parties involved, so while David Moore has a thinner margin of error due to his lower-volume of targets and snaps, the ability to take each reception for an average of 17.3 yards while occupying the "Swiss Army Knife" role means that three catches is all you will need in order to cash in on a high-quality outing.
