BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 50% of leagues
ANALYSIS: We have to thank Davis Bertans for proving how a contract year can definitely make one perform to higher-than-high levels of play in the NBA. That's what happened with Bertans last season when he had a year for the ages to re-ink his deal with the Wiz... and proceed to be a little bit underwhelming in 2021. Bertans shooting has gone down from last year's mighty 43/42/85 to 40/39/86 shooting splits, and it's showing. Bertans' role has also diminished a bit, which is also causing his numbers to be lower than those of 2020, but he is much better these days than he was to kick the year off, so there's that.
If you look at Bertans' numbers through the first two months of the season you'd want to have zero shares of him in your teams and leagues. The shooting was horrid at 36% from the floor and the only thing saving him were his treys, 2.9 3PG, although he wasn't doing much more than that. In the games since Feb. 22, though, Bertans kind of righted his wrongs and in the 14 games he's played since then he's hitting a much higher 50% of the field goals he takes while even raising up a tick his three-point marks at almost 3 3PG.
Bertans is what Bertans is: a three-point sniper with scoring upside and little more. The turnovers are always low, but so are the assists (0.6 TOs to 0.9 APG), and other than some rebounds here and there (2.3+ RPG on the season, 3.2+ in April) he won't hand you many more goodies. If you're hurting for long-rangers, he is your man, but again, keep in mind what he is and what he definitely is not. The rostership is quite high because fantasy GMs keep believing, but I'd say Bertans is more of a true deep-league asset than anything else.

Fantasy Basketball Deeper-League Waiver Wire Adds for Week 24: Isaac Okoro, Kris Dunn, Josh Richardson, Corey Kispert, Delon Wright
The deeper a fantasy basketball league, the harder it is to hit a winner with your last few picks. It is also harder to find decent help from the waiver wire if your late-round picks don't do you justice. If you picked up a few stinkers, don't lose hope just yet. I will try to […]
Onyeka Okongwu (SF/PF, ATL): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 16% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Hawks are currently the 10th seed in the East but are also tied for 8th and 9th with Brooklyn and Charlotte respectively. There's even a chance (albeit small) that Atlanta could rise as high as to reach the 7th seed if […]
Immanuel Quickley (PG, NYK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 48% of leagues ANALYSIS: If we use common basketball sense, then the New York Knicks and Coach Thibs should try and see what the young guys such as Immanuel Quickley have in them and what they can provide the franchise with ROS, as the NYK are […]
Deni Avdija (SG/SF, WAS): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 37% of leagues ANALYSIS: One would reasonably think that a player seeing a playing-time boost such as that of Deni Avdija's this month would make said player drop his efficiency numbers. Well, not the case for the Wiz Wing by the looks of it. Avdija has […]
Nicolas Claxton (PF/C, BRK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 24% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Nets can finally rest assured they'll make the play-in portion of the season. Not quite what you expected when the season got rolling back in October, but at least more than what the Lakers would have accomplished a week from now. […]
