ANALYSIS: Barring a game playing to TE2 levels in Week 1 to kick the year off, the truth is that we can't ask more from Dawson Knox. The Bills' tight end has hit the floor running and in all three games starting in W2 he's finished as a TE1 play on a weekly basis. No joke, considering the scarcity of the position and the wide availability of Knox in most Yahoo leagues with four games already in the rearview mirror.
It's not just that Knox have lucked into unsustainable production, or at least not in any sort of wild way. Knox has scored at least one touchdown in the last three games, sure, but he's also getting targeted an average of 5 times per game on the season, so the volume is there. Knox is coming off his best performance of the 2021 campaign to date after putting up a TE2 (pending MNF) 20.7 PPR points to the tune of an 8-5-37 receiving line with 2 TDs on top of that. He had 9.7 and 14.9 fantasy points in the prior two games, in which he also scored a touchdown each time.
Knox is playing 78%+ of the Bills snaps these days (he only fell behind that mark in W1 with a 56% snap share), and he's currently the 12th most-targeted tight end over the four games on the books with 20 targets of which he's hauled in 15 for 4 combined TDs. Both Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley will obviously finish above Knox in target share, but it's not that clear that Emmanuel Sanders will be above the TE once all is said and done (it's currently 26 targets to 20 for Knox, so the difference isn't that large). Must-roster in all leagues, let alone those with 12+ or deeper fields of teams.
