While fans simply rave about Julio Jones and his 49 catches for 638 yards and four touchdowns (rightfully so), he may have some competition for the best wide receiver in the NFL.
While the Houston Texans are sitting with just a 2-4 record, you simply can't overlook the season that DeAndre Hopkins is putting together. Hopkins has caught a total of 52 passes for 726 yards and five touchdowns. Even more amazing? The man has seen 90 targets through just six games. Fantasy football stud? You bet.
Hopkins has been stellar over the past four weeks, specifically, catching at least eight balls in every game, while also topping 100 yards in each outing. So the question is, what's the key to his success? Obviously getting that high of a volume of targets will help out, but the fact is simple, quarterback Brian Hoyer loves Hopkins and looks his way early and often.
Over the past three games, Hopkins has caught 30 balls for 474 yards and two touchdowns. Take a wild guess at who saw extended action at quarterback in those games? None other than Hoyer. The best game of the entire season for Hopkins from a fantasy perspective came in Week 6, when Hoyer was renamed the full-time starting quarterback.
In that game, a 31-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the stud receiver caught 10 balls for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Hopkins not only has superstar potential, but he may be the best fantasy receiver out there moving forward in 2015.
