BALLER MOVE: Target ~ 105 (Current ADP: 128, WR: 44)
ANALYSIS: After a promising rookie season in 2013, DeAndre Hopkins, the Texans' former first round pick out of Clemson, has shined this year in camp. He's been making the improvements expected of second year players, but has often surpassed expectations with ridiculous one-handed grabs and his route-running. During team practices with the Broncos, Hopkins was working against Aqib Talib and more than held his own. He was getting physical off the line and attacked the ball much better than last season.
Speaking of last season, it's easy to see why many aren't as high on him this season as other second year wide-outs such as Terrence Williams or Kenny Stills. But Hopkins did end up out-performing both of them with 52 catches for 802 yards and two touchdowns. And that was with the Texans woeful offense and three different QBs rather than having Tony Romo or Drew Brees throwing to him. Playing alongside Andre Johnson, a healthy Arian Foster, and with new QB Ryan Fitzpatrick who knows how to air it out, DeAndre is poised for a true breakout sophomore year. Over the past 15 years, first round rookie receivers with more than 700 receiving yards have increased their fantasy numbers by 33% in their second season. If that comes to fruition for Hopkins, he will be a strong WR3 and Flex play for most leagues.
