BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 20% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The San Francisco 49ers have shocked the world this year and currently are undefeated at 5-0. The offense has definitely not been what’s making them so good this year, but their defense has been great and appears to be here to stay. The offense, on the other hand, is in desperate need of a playmaker outside of George Kittle. The backfield is a split between Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida, but the wide receivers are up in the air.
Many owners were banking on Dante Pettis to have a breakout season, but one rookie that I had my eye on and drafted late in many leagues is Deebo Samuel. The rookie out of South Carolina is a very talented route runner and is absolutely a playmaker. The targets have not been consistent for any wide receiver in San Francisco, but Samuel is still the one I’d be banking on taking over the WR1 role. With just one touchdown on the season and only 15 catches for 168 yards, Samuel is likely available on the waiver wire and is worth stashing. Someone needs to step up for this offense and if there’s a receiver that I’m targeting, it’s Samuel. Stash him at the bottom of your roster if you can afford the roster spot.
