DeMarco Murray, Ryan Matthews With Groin Injuries, Expected to Play

Last week, the Philadelphia Eagles played relatively well. While the team’s record is nothing to brag about, things are headed in the right direction. That said, not everything is as perfect as it could potentially be. Coming into Week 10, both DeMarco Murray and Ryan Matthews are dealing with nagging groin injuries.

However, fantasy owners shouldn’t be too cautious when setting their respective lineups, seeing as how both backs are pegged to play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. With Sam Bradford desperately needing the help of Murray and Matthews in last week’s win over the Dallas Cowboys, this is certainly a good sign for Eagles’ fans living both inside and outside the City of Brotherly Love.

Moreover, the presence of Murray and Matthews on the field come game time on Sunday isn’t some halfhearted hope. In fact, according to ProFootballTalk.com, both talented halfbacks were full participants in practice this wee—pads and all. This is especially important for fantasy owners hoping to give Murray the nod tomorrow.

Having accumulated a total of 160 yard’s in last week’s fixture, there’s reason to assume that Murray’s finally found his role in Chip Kelly’s offense. Though the two runners have been splitting time this season, Murray is worth starting over Matthews.

Why? Well, not only has he been getting more touches each game, but his on-field production is steadily on the rise and simply can’t be ignored. Reports SportsWorldReport.com, “Murray has now scored a touchdown in three of his last four games and he has not been below 20 touches over that stretch for the Eagles.”

Unfortunately for Murray and Matthews, they aren’t the only ones struggling in the ways of physical health. Their offensive line is also banged up. More specifically, the Eagles might be without offensive tackle Jason Peters in Philadelphia when Miami comes to town.

After suffering a back in injury in October, Peters has been in and out of the starting lineup. With the likes of Suh looking to give Murray and Matthews fits, the loss of Peters could be big for hesitant fantasy owners.
