BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 3% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: New York Jets -- yes, that's right, New York Jets -- wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has had a roller coaster couple of years. He started 2018 on the only team he's never known, the Denver Broncos. Then he was traded to Houston, where he tore his Achilles. He signed with New England this offseason but was released and ended up joining the Jets.
I think a lot of people thought Thomas wouldn't have much left at this point, but on Sunday he returned from a hamstring injury and played 78 percent of New York's offensive snaps, catching four of his nine targets for 47 yards.
If Luke Falk was set to remain the quarterback in New York, I'd shrug this off as nothing. But with Sam Darnold (mono) finally set to return, the Jets passing attack should get a big boost. Thomas is a great veteran presence who can give Darnold a reliable option to get the ball to, so I've got some interest in him right now in deeper leagues, just so I can have him on my bench in case he looks like the old Thomas with Darnold tossing him the ball.
