DeVante Parker Struggling with Fundamentals and Andre Williams’ Demise

If you selected DeVante Parker early in any rookie dynasty drafts, he has probably been one of your biggest disappointments thus far this season. The first-round wide receiver hasn’t received any meaningful playing time yet with the Miami Dolphins. In fact, against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football during Week 8, Parker played just four snaps before injuring his surgically repaired foot.

According to Dolphins interim head coach Dan Campbell, Parker still has a lot of learning to do.

"It's all about catching up on his fundamentals," Campbell said, according to NFL.com. "He'll flash. And when he flashes, you know what's to come but they are few and far between right now. When he's ready to go, we're going to cut him loose and let him go and you'll see a lot of him. So if he's not there, he's not ready."

Considering Parker has suffered another injury setback, he can be dropped in all redraft leagues. He will have no impact anymore this season. However, he’s still worth holding onto in dynasty leagues. Parker has a ton of talent, he just needs to have an opportunity to prove it.

Talent wise, he may be the best receiver on the Dolphins roster. Next season the team hopes he can step-up and start opposite of Jarvis Landry. If Parker lives up to his potential, quarterback Ryan Tannehill will have no shortage of weapons. Rishard Matthews and Kenny Stills have both shown flashes of greatness as well.

In other news, New York Giants running back Andre Williams will likely be looking for a different team soon. According to The Newark Star-Ledger, Williams is expected to be the odd man out after the emergence of Orleans Darkwa.

Williams has struggles with the opportunities he has had this season. He has 49 rushes for 140 yards and one touchdown. He’s averaging just 2.9 yards per carry.

Rashad Jennings and Shane Vereen will continue to see the bulk of the work at running back for the Giants. Unfortunately, none of the Giants backs have much fantasy value.

Jennings lives and dies by the touchdown and Vereen is only worth starting considerations in leagues that give points per reception.

I would consider both Jennings and Vereen as RB3’s in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints.

As for Williams, he can be dropped in all leagues. His NFL days may be numbered unless he catches a huge break with a different team.
