ANALYSIS: After starting most of his games three years ago, Dillon Brooks was forced to miss most of the 2019 season before coming back in 2020 to start all 73 games for the Grizzlies. Brooks ended playing a total of 2,112 minutes for an average of 28.9 mpg while posting an average 16-3-2-1 line per game and averaging 26 FPPG on the year.
Brooks is not a league-winning player, that's for sure, and that won't change with the likes of Jonas Valanciunas and Ja Morant still being the top-tier options available in Memphis' roster. In fact, Brooks was the 62nd-best player in total fantasy points in 2020, ways below Morant's 38th and JoVa's 28th finishes league-wide.
Even on a smaller role, Brooks (14.6) ranked second in most fga per game only bested by Derrick Rose (15.1) among players with fewer than 29 mpg over the year. Although Brooks wasn't great from the floor (.407 fg%), his three-point and free-throw shooting raised his floor making him one of just 15 players reaching .400/.350/.800 splits while shooting his volume of shots from those separate areas. Great bench option worth drafting much earlier than fantasy GMs are doing so these days, as his value doubles what his ADP suggests.
