BALLER MOVE: Target ~75
CURRENT ADP: 130
ANALYSIS: Colorado Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu had a very similar season in 2017 to the one he had in 2016. The only real difference is that he did not get to take home a shiny batting title trophy this time around. LeMahieu hit .310 with eight home runs, six stolen bases, and 95 runs scored in 2017, a slight but pretty insignificant drop across the board from his 2016.
The expectation is that he will provide similar value next season as well, but the problem is that his value is not actually all that valuable in most leagues. LeMahieu really only provides positive numbers in two standard categories, and while he is certainly a boon in both of those, his negative value in the other categories can more than offset it.
He is certainly not a useless player, and a light-hitting middle infielder is not without value in deeper leagues, but in most leagues, you will need to buy low on the Rockies second baseman.
