ANALYSIS: Considering how thin the middle infield position is across the board, up LeMahieu is nearly a no-brainer. According to Yahoo! statistics, LeMahieu is ranked 52nd of all players and fifth of all second basemen. That’s where his true value lies. Sure, he is going to hit his fair share of offense across the board in the thin air of Coors Field - he is hitting .350 with three home runs, 28 runs, 29 RBI and five stolen bases. But to do that as a second baseman is why he needs to be added immediately in all leagues. There is very little chance that there is a better option available off the waiver wire right now, even if he does not sustain his .411 BABIP, which he most likely will not. Grab him now.
