ANALYSIS: Domingo Santana was already enjoying a solid season, but he has been blistering to begin July. He has seven hits in his last 16 at-bats with four runs and four RBI in his last five games. Santana is on pace to approach a 30-HR, 100-RBI season in his first chance as a true full-time starter. He's shown an affinity for taking walks (12.1% BB%) which has led to a .370 OBP. He'll continue to swing and miss quite a bit, evidenced by a 71.5% contact rate and 13.2% swinging strike rate, but he makes the most of his contact when he does connect. A .278 average shows that Santana can do more than just go deep and won't hurt fantasy owners in the least.
Miller Park is also proving to be an asset for many of the Brewers' young offensive players. It currently ranks fourth in MLB Park Factor for runs scored and 10th for home runs. With Ryan Braun back to provide more protection in the lineup, Santana could be in line for another great second half. His ownership has been slowly rising over the course of the season, past the 50% mark as of last week, but he is still widely available in many deeper mixed leagues for reasons unknown.
