There are a few great pitchers throwing tonight, but there are also a few great teams to stack. That is a recipe for a great night of fantasy baseball.
Well, let's get down to it!
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/17/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings
Detroit Tigers - The Tigers get a great matchup against Phil Hughes tonight, who has looked awful this season. Detroit is a -120 favorite in a game set at 9.5 runs, and that is one of the highest Vegas lines of the night. The Tigers have loads of upside, and they can be used in all leagues.
Chicago Cubs - The Cubs have one of the best offenses in the MLB, and they get a great matchup against Anderson tonight. Anderson has an ERA over 7.00 at home, and the Cubs are -160 favorites in a game set at 9 runs. They have certainly struggled with consistency at times this season, but they should have no problems tonight. They can be used in all leagues.
Texas Rangers - The Rangers recently made the news for the wrong reason, but Odor has yet to be disciplined and he's still playing. They are an extremely high upside offense, and they get an elite matchup against Surkamp tonight. They are -140 favorites in a game set at 8 runs, but you'll need to check out their confirmed lineup, as Odor could be punished any day.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings
Madison Bumgarner - Bumgarner has struggled a bit on the road this season, but this is an elite matchup. The Padres have arguably the worst offense in the MLB, and they strikeout quite a bit. Bumgarner has flashed elite strikeout potential this season, and he's a -167 favorite in a game set at 6.5 runs. He can be used in all leagues.
Vince Velasquez - Velasquez has looked good this season, and he has been an elite pitcher at home. In three home starts, Velasquez has a 2-1 record with a 0.93 ERA and 12.1 K/9. He gets a good matchup against the Marlins, and he's a -110 favorite in a game set at 7 runs. He can be used in all leagues.
DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings
Catcher (C)
Bobby Wilson - Wilson has been far from a great hitter in his career, but he has been on fire this season. He's hitting .303 in his last 10 games, including two home runs and 10 RBIs. He gets a great matchup against Surkamp, and he can be used in all leagues.
First Base (1B)
Chris Davis - Davis has been heating up recently, as he's averaging 10.4 fantasy points per game over his last 10 games. He gets a good matchup against Miley, and Davis was a better hitter against lefties last season. That hasn't been the case this year, but that has been in a small sample size and Davis is hot enough for all leagues.
Second Base (2B)
Ian Kinsler - Kinsler has been a huge part of the Tigers offense this season, and he has been playing well recently. He gets a great matchup against Hughes, who has looked awful this season. Kinsler is hitting high in the Tigers lineup, and he can be used in all leagues.
Shortstop (SS)
Trevor Story - People tend to avoid the Rockies players away from Coors, but that would be a mistake. Story's price is low because he is playing in St. Louis, but he has been nearly as good on the road as he has been in Coors this season. Story is still more of a GPP option, even though he is playing well right now.
Third Base (3B)
Danny Valencia - Valencia has been playing exceptionally well when he hasn't be hurt. He has one of the highest hard hit rates in the Majors and he's hitting for a .389 average against lefties this season. The matchup against Hamels isn't ideal, but Valencia has been hot enough for all leagues.
DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings
Adam Jones - After a dreadful start to the season, Jones has been on fire over his last 10 games. Over that span, he has a .381 average with six extra-base hits and 11 RBIs. He gets a great matchup against Miley, and he can be used in all leagues.
Jackie Bradley Jr. - This price is entirely too low for JBJ. He has been hitting higher in the lineup, and he has recorded a .452 average with seven extra-base hits and 16 RBIs over his last 10 games. He can be used in all leagues.
Ryan Rua - Rua is a player that platoons and generally only plays against left-handed pitching. He's hitting .409 against lefties this season, and he gets a great matchup against Surkamp tonight. Rua is extremely cheap, and he can be used in all leagues.
