The playoff race is heating up and teams are starting to show up! The Giants, Cardinals, and Mets are all in the hunt in the NL, although I'm quite surprised the Giants have dropped the ball like they have. As long as the Mets work their way into the playoffs, I'll be a happy fan.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/9/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings. DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings
Cleveland Indians - The Indians have a high upside offense, and they get a great matchup against Tyler Duffey tonight. Duffey has struggled with a 7.22 home ERA this season, and the Indians are -158 favorites in a game set at 9 runs tonight. They are a safe stack for all leagues.
Pittsburgh Pirates - The Pirates offense has struggled at times this season, but they are in a great spot tonight. They get a good matchup against Adleman, who has an ERA over 4.00 this season. The Pirates are -147 favorites in a game set at 9 runs, but they are best suited for GPPs, as their offense tends to disappear at times.
Washington Nationals - The Nationals have one of the highest upside offenses in the MLB due to their combination of speed and power. They get a matchup against Thompson, who has a 6.48 ERA through his first six starts this season. The Nationals are -270 favorites in a game set at 8 runs, and they can be stacked in all leagues.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings
Clayton Kershaw - Kershaw returns tonight, and he makes an intriguing option. His price tag dropped due to his injury, but it would be surprising if the Dodgers let him pitch before he was fully healthy. He's a -146 favorite in a game set at only 6.5 runs, and Kershaw can be used in all leagues.
Tyler Chatwood - Chatwood never really gets the respect he deserves because he pitches half of his games in Coors. On the road, he has a 6-1 record with a cool 1.82 ERA. He gets an elite matchup against the Padres, who he has thrown well against this season, and Chatwood can be used in all leagues.
DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings
Catcher (C)
Yadier Molina - This is a bit more than I wanted to pay for Molina, but he has been too hot to ignore. He's hitting over .350 with good power over his last 10 games. He gets a good matchup against Nelson, and he can be used in all leagues tonight.
First Base (1B)
Kendrys Morales - Morales has been on a heater recently, as he's hitting over .400 with elite power over his last 10 games. He gets a good matchup against Rodon, and Morales isn't quite as expensive as one would assume. He can be used in all leagues.
Second Base (2B)
Brian Dozier - Speaking of players on fire, Dozier needs to be mentioned. He's averaging over 18.0 fantasy points per game over his last 10 games. Those numbers are out of this world, and if you have the salary, it would be wise to play him.
Shortstop (SS)
Alcides Escobar - Escobar is a great salary relief option. He's extremely cheap, but he is hitting around .300 with decent power over his last 10 games. He gets a good matchup against Rodon, and Escobar has dominated left-handed pitching throughout his career. He can be used in all leagues.
Third Base (3B)
Jose Reyes - Reyes has recently found his power to go along with his speed. He has a home run and steal in each of his last two games. Tonight, he gets a decent matchup against Teheran, and Reyes is a high upside option.
DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings
Trea Turner - If the Nationals are scoring runs, Turner will be in the middle of it. He is an elite fantasy option every time he steps on the field because of his combination of power and speed. He gets a good matchup against Thompson, and he can be fired up in all leagues.
Nelson Cruz - Cruz has been dominant over his last few games, and he gets a great matchup against Mengden tonight. He has hit left-handed pitching extremely well throughout his career, and Cruz is a player with a ton of upside. He can be used in all leagues.
Curtis Granderson - Granderson has looked awful for most of the season, but he has been heating up recently. He's hitting .300 over his last 10 games, but more importantly, he has displayed great power. Still, he hasn't been consistent enough this season to be used in all leagues, but he's a great tournament option.
