DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Alex Wood, LAD (vs. SF) - $6,700
Wood's price has bottomed out because of his last three starts, two of which he got blown up and his most recent start where he left with an injury. This makes Wood a fantastic value so long as he's at full strength. Wood has pitched much better than his ERA would suggest, as he's got a 3.29 FIP and a 2.96 Deserved Run Average this season. The Giants are roughly league-average against lefties, and Dodger Stadium is a pitcher-friendly park, so this is certainly a favorable matchup for him.
Sean Newcomb, ATL (vs. SD) - $9,500
Newcomb is particularly attractive in GPP contests for his great upside. He's got a strong 24.3% K-rate this year, and the Padres have the fifth-highest K-rate against lefties at 24.6%. Newcomb is surprisingly affordable for a guy with a 2.92 ERA, which is a number that's mostly supported by his peripherals.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
C - Salvador Perez, KC (vs. HOU) - $3,700
Perez is rocking a .334 wOBA versus left-handed pitching this year and is one of the best power options at the position with 11 homers in just 49 games this year. Astros starter Dallas Keuchel has had some serious issues lately and is looking very hittable.
1B - Jose Abreu, CWS (vs. DET) - $4,100
Abreu deserves a higher price tag for the season he's had, as he's got a 131 wRC+ and bats third for the White Sox. I'd consider pairing Abreu with a cheap teammate or two, such as outfielder Daniel Palka, as they take on Jordan Zimmermann. With a 4.88 ERA, he's among the worst starters on the slate.
2B - Jonathan Schoop, BAL (vs. MIA) - $3,500
Schoop's value has completely bottomed out, which makes him a fantastic buy low. He's at home in one of the best offensive environments in baseball against Wei-Yin Chen, who the Orioles should tee off on. Schoop will see plenty of RBI opportunities.
3B - Travis Shaw, MIL (vs. PHI) - $4,000
Shaw is always worth a look when he's at home at Miller Park, an extreme hitter's park. Shaw has 14 bombs and is walking at a career-high 13.2% rate. As the cleanup man in one of the best lineups in baseball, Shaw has the chance for lots of runs and RBIs.
SS - Marcus Semien, OAK (vs. LAA) - $3,900
Semien normally bats first or second in the A's order, which is a great spot to be against John Lamb. Lamb has never proven himself in the majors and last had a 6.43 ERA in 2016. While Semien has been unspectacular this year, he's got a nice matchup for a fair price.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Scott Schebler, LAD (@ PIT) - $4,300
Schebler is batting .377 with a .996 OPS in the last 15 days and has made his place as the Reds leadoff hitter. He's got a .352 wOBA on the year and is facing Ivan Nova, owner of a 4.68 ERA. Leadoff hitters are particularly valuable in DFS as they get lots of plate appearances, and they're especially useful with a favorable matchup.
Delino DeShields, TEX (vs. COL) - $3,500
While DeShields has poor numbers overall, he's killing left-handed pitching this year, with a .321/.419/.434 line. He's facing a lefty in Kyle Freeland and should be batting second for the Rangers. At such a cheap price he's worth it.
