DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Kyle Hendricks - P, CHC vs PHI (DK - $8,300)
Hendricks is up against the Phillies tonight, who are seriously struggling on offense, and a solid team to pick on. The Phillies have a 26.9% strikeout rate this season vs right-handed pitchers, which is dead last in the league. Hendricks might not be the biggest strikeout pitcher, only at 20%, but he is in a good spot with his 49% ground ball rate. He comes into this game with six or more strikeouts in three of his last four games and has only allowed five walks in that span.
Max Scherzer - P, WAS vs TB (DK - $13,300)
Whenever Scherzer is on the mound, you should be doing what you can to get him into your lineups. His numbers this year are simply insane, so let's break it down. He has a 35% strikeout rate, which is highest on the slate, a 16% swinging strike rate, a 6.8% walk rate, and comes in as a -250 favorite. Really like him as a cash game option tonight, as he is one of few pitchers on this slate who has legitimate 10 strikeout upside anytime he is on the bump.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
Mark Reynolds - 1B, WAS vs TB (DK - $4,000)
Reynolds should be grabbing the start tonight since Matt Adams is likely out again with an injury. Reynolds comes into this game with a .413 wOBA and a .484 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, but it comes in a smaller sample size, so take it with a grain of salt. In a bit of a slump, so more of a GPP play tonight.
Jed Lowrie - 2B, OAK @ TEX (DK - $4,500)
Really like Lowris because he has consistency, along with some decent power upside. He is in Texas today, which means a solid positive park shift in his favor, which plays into the fact the Athletics have an implied run total sitting at 5.27, which is third highest on the board. He has a .360 wOBA and a .132 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers.
Matt Carpenter - 3B, STL vs MIA (DK - $3,900)
Carpenter had a nice stretch of power at the end of May with three home runs in four games but has cooled off a bit since then. I still see the improvement from the beginning of the season and he is worth a shot tonight. He comes into tonight with a .205 ISO vs right-handed pitchers and has six of his seven home runs this season vs RHP. He is up against Jose Urena, who is giving up a 35% hard contact rate.
Manny Machado - SS, BAL @ NYM (DK - $5,200)
If you have the salary tonight, play Manny Machado. It can be that simple if you want it to be. He comes into this game with a .406 wOBA and a .339 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season. His ISO is higher than some hitter's wOBA. Those are simply elite level numbers and you should be trying to get him into your cash game lineups.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Jorge Soler - OF, KAN @ LAA (DK - $4,000)
Soler comes into this game with hits in four of his last five games, two home runs and five RBIs. He is up against Andrew Heaney, who is giving up a 40% hard contact rate, which is worst out of any pitcher on this slate. Soler has a .453 wOBA and a .346 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers.
Niko Goodrum - OF, DET @ BOS (DK - $3,700)
Goodrum has a solid .320 wOBA and a .227 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, putting him in a good spot tonight at Fenway Park. He comes into this game with hits in seven of his last eight games, including two doubles and four RBIs. He offeres a bit of salary relief, which is always good on a slate with so many aces.
