DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Rick Porcello – P, BOS @ PHI (DK - $9,200)
Porcello got roughed up in his most recent start but had put up 25 or more DraftKings points in two of his three prior starts. Today, he finds himself up against the Phillies, who come in with a 25.6% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitchers this season, which is third worst in the league, giving Porcello plenty of upside tonight. He has racked up five or more strikeouts in nine of his last 10 starts while giving up giving up 33 earned runs over that span, roughly three runs game.
Justin Verlander – P, HOU vs COL (DK - $12,600)
Verlander is up against the Rockies tonight who come in with a 23.2% strikeout rate this season versus right-handed pitchers, which is ninth worst in the league. The Rockies are taking a massive negative park shift against them since they are away from Coors Field, which is why they have a wRC+ of only 78 vs RHP this season. Verlander has seven or more strikeouts in four of his last five starts while allowing two or fewer earned runs in three of those starts.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
Roberto Perez – C, CLE @ CIN (DK - $2,800)
Perez is very cheap tonight and will have a great matchup versus a home run prone pitcher. That pitcher is Sal Romano for the Reds, who is giving up 1.46 HR/9 to righties this season with a 30% hard contact rate. This is a great park factor for Perez, who also gets you cheap exposure to the Indians powerful offense.
Matt Davidson – 1B, CWS @ DET (DK - $4,200)
Davidson has a .376 wOBA and a powerful .270 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers this season, which should put him in a great spot tonight. That is because he is facing Blaine Hardy, who is giving up a 41% fly ball rate and a 35% hard contact rate to righties this season. Love him as a one-off in GPP lineups.
Daniel Descalso – 2B, ARI @ TEX (DK - $4,600)
Descalso and the Diamondbacks are in a great spot today due to the pitching matchup and the park factor. They are facing off against Yovani Gallardo, who is giving up 1.38 HR/9 to lefties this season along with a 34% fly ball rate. Descalso comes in with a .202 ISO vs RHP this season, so with this game being in Texas, one of the best hitter’s parks in the league, he should be a solid home run option tonight.
Rafael Devers – 3B, BOS @ PHI (DK - $3,700)
Devers is still way too cheap for the potential upside he has given the matchup and the offense he plays in. Yes, he only has three hits in four games since coming off the DL, but he has a .207 ISO vs RHP and is up against Nick Pivetta who is giving up 1.39 HR/9 to lefties this season.
Tim Beckham – SS, BAL vs NYM (DK - $3,900)
Beckham isn’t too expensive today and will be facing off against one of the worst pitchers in the league, Jason Vargas, who is giving up a .423 wOBA to righties, along with 2.34 HR/9. Beckham has a .304 wOBA and a .159 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Nicholas Castellanos – OF, DET vs CWS (DK - $4,500)
Castellanos has nine career at-bats vs Lucas Giolito, with only two hits in that span, but both of those hits have gone for home runs. So if you are a BvP truther, this might be the spot for you to buy in. Regardless of the BvP, Castellanos still has a solid .178 ISO vs right-handed pitchers this season, giving him plenty of power upside.
Shohei Ohtani – OF, LAA @ SD (DK - $4,700)
If you are looking for home run upside tonight, Ohtani might be the guy for your lineups. He has .418 wOBA and a massive .320 ISO vs right-handed pitchers this season. He will be up against Brett Kennedy, who will be making his second career start, after giving up six earned runs and three home runs in his first start.
