DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice - NBA DFS Lineup Picks for 1/31/16

On Sunday, the Golden State Warriors visit Madison Square Garden for the first time this season, while several of the best teams in the league face off against each other. Oh, and the Phoenix Suns are playing.

Tonight's lineup features plenty of affordable and safe options, along with a couple of players facing each other at the same position, which could make for a nice stack based on the likeliness of a lot of scoring and competitiveness in their matchup.

Check out my Daily NBA Picks for DraftKings, 1/31/16.

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

J.J. Barea (vs PHO, $4,200)

Barea should see plenty of the floor against the depleted Phoenix Suns. While in a time-share rotation at point guard with Deron Williams and Raymond Felton, the three still see close to the same amount of court time. Barea has been playing around 25 minutes a night recently, scoring in double-digits in his last three. Wesley Mathews has been struggling at the two-guard, while Devin Harris has been injured, so we can expect two out of the three Dallas point guards to be on the court at the same time for most of the game. Barea is cheap and tallies his fair share of assists and rebounds as well.

Marcus Smart (at ORL, $5,200)

Isaiah Thomas would appear to be the obvious choice here, but the red-hot Boston Celtics should have no problem easily handling the Orlando Magic, again, in the second leg of their home-and-home. Friday night, Smart slightly outperformed Thomas and played a minute more than the All-Star, dropping 16 points, four assists, three steals, two rebounds, and one block. Smart should likely see close to the 28 minutes he played Friday and is a much cheaper option than Thomas. Of course Thomas is the safer pick, but with the way the Celtics are playing, and considering the Magic are on an eight-game losing streak, Thomas could very well be rested again, inserting Smart for close to 30 minutes once more.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Langston Galloway (vs GS, $4,500)

Galloway has strung together a nice couple of games in relief of the injured Jose Calderon. Even with Calderon in the lineup last week against the Thunder, Galloway dropped 21 points in 33 minutes. The second year guard displayed plenty of explosiveness against the short-handed Suns Friday night, and will definitely be tested against the defending champions. Whether the Knicks find themselves in a catchup game or in a close game or if Calderon returns to the floor, Galloway is a cheap option. He sprinkles plenty of stats into each category and has been averaging over 30 minutes of floor in the past three games.

Klay Thompson (at NYK, $7,300)

Klay recently posted 45 points against the Dallas Mavericks, and should have plenty of opportunities against the Knicks on Sunday. New York has played good teams tough this season, recently taking the Oklahoma City Thunder to overtime and losing to the Spurs in San Antonio by a point earlier in the month. A closer game would be desired for daily fantasy participants, to ensure that Klay keeps pulling the trigger from all over the court. Wednesday against Dallas, Klay shot 70% from the floor, going 14-20, while nailing seven of 12 from downtown. When he is hot, there are few better at putting the ball in the hoop.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Chandler Parsons (vs PHO, $6,900)

The poor Suns. Parsons has been one of the hottest Mavericks of late, posting double-digit scoring performances in seven straight games, including five of over 20 points in that stretch. Parsons is also a threat from behind the arc. In that six game span, Parsons attempted at least six three's each night, resulting in an impressive 25-42 from downtown. Parsons is also a rebound threat and at his affordable price, it's difficult to stay away from him.

P.J. Tucker (at DAL, $5,300)

I'll repeat myself. The poor Suns. Amidst their struggles and injuries to their two best players, the team needs to find production elsewhere. Tucker won't light up the scoreboard but is capable of scoring in double-digits. The appeal in selecting Tucker is not only his low price, but his ability to spread stats. Over his last four games, Tucker is averaging seven rebounds, four assists, one block, and a little over one steal per game.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Julius Randle (vs CHA, $6,100)

Randle has also strung together a couple of nice performances, on the court and for fantasy. Randle has scored in double-digits in six of his last seven games, while grabbing double-digit rebounds in five of seven. Randle is capable of breaking out with a double-double on any given night and is one of the sole producers on a struggling Lakers team that has lost nine in a row. Randle is a smart play against any team, as he's been averaging around 30 minutes of playing time a night.

Chris Bosh (vs ATL, $7,700)

In the absence of Hassan Whiteside, Bosh has stepped up his game. In the four straight games that the Heat center has missed, Bosh has scored in double-digits in all of them, while scoring over 20 in five of eight games played. Whiteside is questionable for Sunday's game, and if he laces up, Bosh is still valuable. If Whiteside is forced to sit, Bosh is a no-brainer. The Heat host the Atlanta Hawks, a battle of two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, one that will surely be competitive throughout. Bosh will likely be matched up against Paul Millsap, who has recently experienced some health trouble of his own, leaving Thursday's contest against the Indiana Pacers with an ankle sprain. Keep an eye on the status of both Whiteside and Millsap. If both sit, Bosh should be considered as one of the top plays of the night.

DraftKings DFS Centers

DeAndre Jordan (vs CHI, $7,700)

As long as Blake Griffin remains out of action, Jordan is an almost must-pick in Daily Fantasy. The Clippers' center won't blow anyone away with his ability to put the ball in the hoop, but his rebounding should be highly noted. In the past four games, Jordan has averaged 17 rebounds a night, which results in over 20 fantasy points alone. Jordan is more than capable of scoring, and has posted eight double-doubles in his last 11 games. He's also not crazy expensive and should be considered in both tournaments and head-to-head contests.
