Are you as giddy as I am? Tuesday’s slate offers the basketball world what it has been waiting for for quite some time. I know I have been on pins and needles for a little while. We finally get to see what the new look Knicks will bring to the floor in the post-Derek Fisher era. What? Were you expecting me to mention The Beard near the Bay?

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 2/9/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. Be sure to check out my podcast every Monday and Thursday right here at Rotoballer for all your DFS needs.

Draftkings DFS Point Guards

Steph Curry (vs HOU, $11,000)

Obligatory Steph Curry post here. Obligatory mention that he is expensive here.

Isaiah Thomas (at MIL, $7,700)

Both Curry and John Wall feature price tags in the stratosphere, but they both make great plays. Thomas’s price, however, is crazy low for his potential. Over the last 10 games, the Boston guard is averaging over 16 shots per game and 6.3 assists during that span. Chances are that Wall and Curry will be heavily owned, so Thomas also makes sense from a contrarian view.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

James Harden (at GSW, $10,600)

There is literally zero chance that you will be able to roster The Beard and Curry and expect to get at least one of the solid plays below. But if you can grab Harden, he is in a great spot to really put up numbers. Klay Thompson’s defense has deteriorated this season, dropping a full two points on the DRating scale from 104 to 106. I also subscribe to the “Dwight Howard will disappear” school of thought here and am expecting Howard to get injured or in foul trouble within three minutes of the opening tip. That means the scoring and rebounding will have to rely on The Beard.

Klay Thompson (vs HOU, $7,800)

I get a Thompson play. Truly I do. In cash games, he will most likely be heavily owned meaning that a roster of Thompson won’t hurt or help you however he does. Warriors coach Steve Kerr is a smart guy and loves to attack opponents’ weaknesses, so Thompson’s ceiling is insanely high on Tuesday. One caveat though. For his career, and this regular season is no difference, Thompson is a streaky player that gets really hot and really cold in three to four game spurts. Before his somewhat of a dud Saturday against Oklahoma City, Thompson was straight fire for the previous four games. Connect the dots for tournament plays.

Arron Afflalo (vs WAS, $5,300)

Here’s the underrated play of the day, especially if Carmelo Anthony sits again. With no Melo, Afflalo’s usage rate skyrockets into the Curry pricing stratosphere. The Wizards give up a ton of fantasy points to the opposing two and three, so it is hard to not roster Afflalo in double ups.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Kawhi Leonard (at MIA, $7,600)

Wow. That’s the first reaction I gave when I saw Leonard’s price. This is a guy that is typically a high $8k or low $9k player and he has a wonderful matchup against the Heat, who surprisingly give up the 9th most DraftKings points to opposing small forwards. There are two downsides. 1) Vegas has this game as the lowest projected point total on the board by a long shot. 2) His rebound and assist numbers have been rather low over the last six games. Judging by the rest of the competition at the swing for Tuesday, Kawhi is actually the safest play.

Chandler Parsons (vs UTA, $6,300)

It’s been bombs away for Parsons this season. The dude has no intention of slowing down the shot taking from behind the arc so he will continue to be on the radar for DFS purposes. The Dallas-Utah matchup is a gross one and a fade of this game all around does make sense, but Parsons is the one guy in this game that is the X factor in terms of speeding up the pace and increasing the scoring.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Kristaps Porzingis (vs WAS, $7,200)

After two straight big games from Porzin-God, it appears his January blues are just that- a thing of the past. The Wizards have been rolling out Jared Dudley at the four lately and although he has played well defensively, he stands no shot at stopping Porzingis from the perimeter or from posting him up. And with one of those monster games he just delivered with Melo in the lineup, it’s safe to say that Porzingis is safe in all formats.

Jabari Parker (vs BOS, $5,000)

He has played more like a Jabroni more than a Jabari over the last two, but the young Buck was delivering some solid return in the previous five out of six games. It’s time for him to bounce back. The Celtics have allowed the fifth most fantasy points to opposing power forwards and this game should go quick, playing right into Parker’s skill sets. Between Jared Sullinger and Amir Johnson, Boston should have their hands full with Jabari.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Marcin Gortat (at NY, $6,900)

All the Polish Hammer does is record double-doubles on the reg. He is the only legitimate inside scorer for the Wizards and plays a beautiful pick-and-roll with John Wall. Robin Lopez is not really known for any type of defense, in fact he ranks in the bottom third of all starters, so Gortat is the top cash and value play of the day.
