DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (3/1/16): NBA DFS Advice

To Curry or not to Curry. That is the question. Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings of his treys should he play or to take the cap hit and possibly see the dreaded “out” near his name. I tried my best to incorporate some Hamlet and educate you degenerate daily fantasy players, but clearly I failed. I’ll just stick to what I know best.

In this article, I will be providing you with Daily NBA picks for DraftKings for 3/1/16. The picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays. Be sure to check out my podcast live streaming on Google+ every Monday and Thursday right here at Rotoballer for all your DFS needs.

Without wasting anymore time, let's get down to it!

DraftKings DFS Point Guards

Kemba Walker (vs PHO, $7,700)

Outside of a hobbled Curry and Damian Lillard, who has a really sub-par matchup in New York, there really isn’t a high end option at point guard today. Provided that Curry sits, Walker appears to be the best bet to score the most fantasy points at the point. His ORating climbs to 115 when at home and his per game averages in minutes, points, rebounds, and assists are all higher in Charlotte. He should coast through that soft Phoenix perimeter defense.

D’Angelo Russell (vs BKN, $5,600)

Donald Sloan (at LAL, $5,100)

Awwww. The Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers. Two adorable teams that DFSers love to pick on. And Tuesday night should be no different. LA’s number one draft pick was recently re-inserted into the starting lineup and is finally starting to generate better matchups while playing with the first team. Meanwhile, Brooklyn finally went through the necessary process of unloading Joe Johnson and his giant contract. All of Johnson’s shots, points, and rebounds need to be spread around somehow, and Sloan makes the most sense in being the biggest beneficiary. Both the Nets and the Lakers are quite forgiving to opponents, so it’s very possible we see more of these teams in the immediate future.

DraftKings DFS Shooting Guards

Victor Oladipo (at DAL, $7,200)

There is no one safer right now in the industry than Oladipo. Since the All Star Break, dude is averaging 19 points, 6.2 boards and 3.8 assists in six games. For Tuesday, there will possibly be no Evan Fournier as well. The price keeps climbing for Oladipo, but it hasn’t risen to the point where he is too expensive.

Nicolas Batum (vs PHO, $6,700)

Batum is too good of a player to finish games with just six field goal attempts. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what he has done in each of the last two games. Even worse, only three of those shots found the bottom of the net. He is in a bit of a funk right now which is never a good sign, but there’s nothing like a steady dose of that Phoenix defense to get legit NBA players back on that horse!

Mario Hezonja (at DAL, $3,500)

Make sure to be vigilant in checking with the Orlando injury report. If Fournier does not play again, fading Hezonja in cash games becomes criminal.

DraftKings DFS Small Forwards

Carmelo Anthony (vs POR, $8,500)

The easy part is watching the box scores and seeing Melo pile up career highs in assists and rebounds per game. The hard part is actually stomaching that you have selected Melo to occupy an integral role on your daily fantasy team.

Chandler Parsons (vs ORL, $6,600)

Not only is Parsons steaming hot right now- 42.25 and 46.5 DraftKings points in his last two games, respectively- but the Mavericks in general are averaging more possessions per game over their last three than than their season average. Perhaps with the additions of David Lee and some other pieces, Dallas is ready to open up the offense and play up tempo. That fits right into his skill sets.

DraftKings DFS Power Forwards

Draymond Green (at ATL, $8,600)

Ay Day-Day. Ay Day-Day. Ay Day-Day. Ay Day-Day. (I really hope you read that like Hurricane would drop that). Day-Day just recorded a game in which he dropped 60.5 DraftKings points yet did not make a field goal. Let that soak in for a minute. You know he is going to get his in the rebounds and assists categories, as well as a spattering of those juicy defensive cats, but he is going to have to pick up a big percentage of the points vacuum should Curry sit.

Thaddeus Young (at LAL, $6,900)

Julius Randle (at LAL, $6,200)

I thought since the grouping of Nets/Lakers earlier in this piece worked out so well, that I would do it again here at the power forward position. Make no mistake, there should be plenty of cash left over to roster Day-Day and/or Paul Millsap if you choose to go that route, but both Young and Randle offer intriguing upside, and contrarian, plays. Randle’s up tempo, inside-outside game is just the type of play that gives Young fits, while Thad’s physical, in-your-face style should give Randle fits in the first half. If you can only choose one, Thad scores more points but Randle returns more value.

David Lee (vs ORL, $4,000)

When Dallas signed Lee, head coach Rick Carlisle made it clear that Lee was not signed “to sit on the bench.” I thought it was a funny joke at the time. I laughed about it. But Lee is the one laughing now. He is seeing anywhere from 22-25 minutes of court time as the Mavs look to get Dirk Nowitzki optimal rest before the postseason push. And boy has Lee returned some nice value. With 37.5 and 30.75 DraftKings points in his last two games, respectively, the dude is proving that he is pretty reliable to produce and not just eat up minutes.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Brook Lopez (at LAL, $7,500)
Lopez is a center. He is playing the Lakers. What else do you need to know?

Advertising

Alex Len (at CHA, $5,200)

I’ve been burned too many times by Len and the Phoenix staff to consider the young center safe. But if the Kris Humphries waive proves anything, it’s that the Suns are ready to roll with Len. The Hornets have looked rather odd since Al Jefferson returned, so let’s continue to pick on that frontcourt.
