DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (1/4/20): NBA DFS Lineups

draymond green NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

There are nine games on the slate and like usual, the theme is value. It's always nice when those low-end players hit, but nothing is sweeter than a $3,000 player going off for 44 FPTS with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brandon Ingram, and Buddy Hield still left to play. There is risk with every single player, but we can make the most of injuries, matchups, and trends even at the most unpredictable part of the season.

Don't be afraid to make a few extra lineups if you are feeling risky, since you will have to do so on most of these nights. If you have any questions, find me in the NBA Chat Room or @HalfCourtJester on Twitter.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/4/20.  You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks.  Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Jalen Brunson - PG/SG, DAL vs. CHA ($3,500)

Luka Doncic has a probable tag next to his name for right now, so anyone that remembers what happened last time Jalen Brunson was given complete control of the offense will be taking this pick. The Hornets give him a ton of upside because of how well their guards can score and struggle to defend. It should force Brunson to create on his own, but if Doncic plays there is significantly less upside. Brunson could see minutes if Seth Curry isn't playing well, but that's not a very good outlook seeing how well the latter has been playing. Curry is a great play here as well.

J.J. Redick - SG/SF, NOP @ SAC ($4,000)

J.J. Redick shot well against the Lakers, it just wasn't enough to overcome Anthony Davis' revenge game. 27 minutes doesn't scare me in terms of fatigue and the Pelicans are going to look to rebound against the Kings. It's always unclear how well the Pelicans will play as a whole, but Redick is getting his attempts this game, that's certain.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Draymond Green  - PG/SF, GSW vs. DET ($6,300)

Draymond Green's price could be a little cheaper here after such a low scoring game, but his upside remains high no matter the opponent. The Pistons have been one of those teams that have offensive outbursts randomly from random people, which is perfect for the Warriors. Golden State needs offense wherever they can get it and since they ride the hot hand most nights, Green has no problem getting whoever that player is the ball. He might struggle to rebound this game, but I think he'll make up for it with assists since the Pistons rank 23rd against opposing small forwards.

Daniel Theis - PF/C, BOS @ CHI ($3,800)

There are two ways to think about this game. The Celtics dominate and Daniel Theis sees a few extra minutes against the Bulls, which is never a bad thing for DFS. Or, the game ends up close and Thies sees his usual 20 minutes and puts up medial numbers. There isn't a ton of upside here, but Theis tends to produce against weak front courts. Statistically, there is not a weaker frontcourt.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Johnathan Williams - PF/C, WAS @ DEN ($3,100)

Not going to beat around the bush on this one, I'm banking on garbage time stats for Johnathan Williams. He hasn't really been able to find much rhythm in the Washington offense, but who can blame him. Things seem to go from bad to worse every game for the Wizards. If Williams sees enough minutes, he can easily post a double-double. He just needs that little extra run.

If you want to try and capitalize on Jordan McRae's price, a player who created his own rhythm in the Washington offense, this might be one of the last games to do so.
